Re-starting a 2nd time through at Week 4 Day 1 -

21, 25, 21, 21, 60

Shoulder is a little tight from swimming 3 nights in a row so didn't push out anymore when I started feeling it.

Let's hear from everyone still doing it!

I'm restarting week 3 and while I did push ups the other day (yeah, I'm late posting this) I didn't have my sheet with me so I made it up!

Everyone is so quiet here!

repeating week 6 this week, because I didn't get Friday's pushups done last week.  Last week's Monday was so easy.  Yesterday, not-so-much. 45, 55, 35, 35, 56.

That's still a lot of pushups, and I'm happy with the muscle development, especially where the pecs join the sholder.  Still, it would be cool to be able to do 100 in a row.

I read the other day that in a full push up you nose, hips, and thighs should all touch.  Mine don't. So I've been working on getting down just a bit farther.

not great, but still pushing! next time will be on Friday, so I won't have swim arms with the hope that the results are getting better!

wakeboardfusion - welcome to BT, you'll love it! I'm originally from Spokane, too.  I hope you're surviving the winter somehow.

I just started the program a couple weeks ago with Week 3.  I'm planning to finish Week 4 tonight.  Is anybody else at the same point?  I'm skeptical that this will work, but still optimistic.  I WANT it to work.

I'll check in again later.

I have been on and off several times now, never making it past week three.  I am definitely getting stronger...hopefully I will stay on board this time around.

The guy who sits next to me 3+ hours a day at school has jokingly commented on my 'manly' arms and shoulders.  He did a stint in the military and was at one point able to crank out 200+ PU's in one go.  It helps that he is really lean...the type who would struggle to gain weight.

Anyway, it is fun to have his encouragement/support.  Sometimes I will do my workout during one of our 15 minute breaks.

BTW-I made it sound like I sit at a desk all day in school when I am actually very active.  I am in a horticulture program and spend plenty of time working outdoors.  I am adept with a mattock and shovel.   Both are very useful when transplanting large trees and shrubs(10-15').

I agree...even though I've been stop and go ever since I struggled with week 6, I still keep on doing them and love the physical improvements!!

Also, I think it all depends on your definition of a "full push up".  I aim to do military style ~ body in a straight line, going down to where arms and shoulders are in a straight line across which means nothing really touches the ground.  To each his own, huh?!

I just did the pushups. I wanted to do an all out effort test to see where I am and I was just able to squeeze out 40... I am degressing.... Don't know what to do about it... Probably I should start in week 5 again. Sometimes it is one step ahead and two steps back.

I just re-tested after Weeks 3 and 4 of the program.  I started off being able to do 25, but then after just 2 weeks of the workouts, I got 47 in one go!  Despite that number, I decided to stay with the middle column in Week 5.

yesterday I did Day 2 of Week 5.  I needed more rest between the sets in order to do it, but i was surprisingly able to max at 40 on the 8th set.

Cautiously optimistic,

~B

Went one week back and was finally able to complete.... I hope working on the base again, helps me to go the distance this time.

I haven't posted how I've done since I started. I got through week 3 (just) (third column), so planned on doing it again the next week. I only did 1 day (day 2 again) so I moved onto week 4 this week. I maxed out at 33 in the final set (minimum of 32). 32 was my starting number, so to do that many after already doing 80 prior impressed me. Must be getting stronger...

Last night I decided to give up on the pushups challenge military style, but instead are going to try for the 100 with girly pushups. I don't feel like I am getting anywhere with the regular pushups and therefore I'll try the alternative and maybe then will start out on the regular ones again. Did 60 on my progress test and will start week 6 in column 2.
