Member 175 Westchester County | Subject: RE: Tebow! As a Jets fan, and not a Tebow fan before today, I think this could be a very good thing. Lights a fire under Sanchez for one, but also greatly improves the Jets Wildcat potential. With Sparano as the OC I assumed the Wildcat would be part of their game plan. Now it could be a real weapon.

Member 175 Westchester County | Subject: RE: Tebow! When the Jets had Brad Smith running it, the wildcat was somewhat effective. I think Tebow makes it a much stronger option. I agreed with you about the Tebow hype thing this morning, now for some reason I feel different. By the way, Sanchez handled the heat in four road playoff games pretty well. I thought he was so talked about because he's an underdog that came through in the clutch and showed up the "experts". And because he seems to be a genuinely nice, modest guy. |

It was a 4th and a 6th for Timmy and a 7th. 1st rounder 2 years ago, win some games, and the BEST anyone can do is a 4th rounder, wow. The Jags and Rams supposedly tried for a trade too, but offered less! |

Champion 6627 Rochester Hills, Michigan | Subject: RE: Tebow! It's done, he's a Jet. That said, we can start the countdown clock to the quarterback controversy. Maybe Sanchez will be the 'training camp starter'...and maybe he won't. We'll see if Rex turns it into an open competition, which would ignite the controversy. Or we could wait til the first preseason game...and the second he misses a pass, the second he fumbles a snap, the second he overthrows someone, the crowd will clamor for Tebow. Guaranteed calamity. In my mind, Sanchez/Tebow together is unworkable. The Jets sunk 40M and a huge signing bonus into Sanchez, trying to convince the fans and locker room that they have confidence in him. Then they undercut him by bringing in another QB guaranteed to generate a controversy at some point, given the NY media. It's going to be a divided fan base, and a divided locker room for a while, until there's only one there. Just what they needed. Let's hope we can count on Rex as a unifying force to keep it all together. Heh. |

Just what they needed. Happened in Denver too. In our case, it pumped up the fan base, got people going to games and helped us get to the playoffs. As for the wildcat, I agree that Tebow makes it a stronger play. Unfortunately, until he can improve his passing, he's still a bit of a one-trick pony. |

Elite 6387 | Subject: RE: Tebow! I'm sorry that is just plain nuts. Obviously they have no immediate plans for the Superbowl. QB dramas are not a good thing. Split duty between different packages are not a good thing. Gimmicks usually do not win Championships. No slight to Tebow at all, but they just made their team worse and the season has not even started. |

Member 2689 Denver, CO | Subject: RE: Tebow! I think Elway is probably relieved to get rid of Tebow and his accompanying media circus. I admired the guy's grit and competitiveness but got really tired of his fan(atic)s saying stuff like "God will lift up Tim Tebow and the Broncos if he can just be given the opportunity to play." Somebody really wrote something like that in a letter to the Denver Post. As if Tebow has "most favored by God" status or something. Not really all that sorry to see him go, although he certainly made last season worth watching. Guess the Broncos will now be doomed to Hades for all eternity for trading him. |

Ya, he was very exciting to watch and a darn good kid too. And the ball is in his court. He knows what he has to do and it is going to take some work to get there. But I don't see Tebow being good for the Jets... it may or may not be good for Tebow. The only way it's good for the Jets is if their coaching staff privately dislikse Sanchez as much as Elway disliked Tebow. With a move for Tebow though, it is hard to not believe in a dislike for Sanchez publicly. |

But yeah, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement for Sanchez, no matter how you slice it. |

Champion 7821 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Tebow! If the Giants hadn’t won the SB, Tebow would be playing elsewhere. The Jets are badly in need of some positive publicity after the Giants unlikely championship win. This is a publicity stunt. Nothing more. They can’t possibly think, realistically, that this will help their team win. But if not for Tebow, the only thing there would be to talk about in the offseason would be what a blowhard their coach is and how disappointing their franchise QB was down the stretch. Now at least they’re a curiosity. The over/under on “how soon do the Jets fans start demanding that Tebow be the starter?” is “eleven seconds after Sanchez throws his first interception”. I’d take the under. Regarding Tebow in NYC, I think he’ll do fine, actually. He’s genuine, and humble and he gives 100%, and NY fans appreciate that. And in spite of his reputation, I’ve come to realize that he doesn’t wear his religion on his sleeve as much as people think. I think he’s a hard guy not to like, honestly. |

Cuetoy - 2012-01-04 3:14 PM Like I said previously in this thread, if he is a regular starter by the middle of next season I will resurrect this thread and say that I was wrong about the guy, which is a lot easier than the bet I have with my girlfriend who is a UF alumni and thinks Tebow has a chance of winning the superbowl. Getting nervous yet? Whether it's this week, next week, or the week after, Sanchez is ensuring the inevitable. Oh yes, my friends, it shall be TEBOW TIME again!!!! |

Champion 7821 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Tebow! Sanchez was brutal last week and I’m sure, as much as he doesn’t want to, Ryan will have to give Tebow a larger role next week. He can’t be much worse than Sanchez, but I don’t think he’s a long-term solution. The more I watched Sanchez last week, the more I think he’s just mailing it in anymore. I’m sure he was stung by the Tebow signing and I’m sure he’d like nothing better than to go to another team and watch the Jets hitch their wagon to Tebow-Time. |

Elite 6387 | Subject: RE: Tebow! I was wondering when this thread was coming back. What a circus. All I know is I'm glad it's not "MY" team. "MY" meaning in no way that I own any part of the Broncos. I don't play for them either in case you thought I did. I was just using "my" in the sense they are from "my" state... DOH... Colorado is not "my" state. I do not own it or any part of it. It is the citizens State... and I do not play for or work for Colorado...It's just the state I live in so I meant it possessive in that sense..... |
