Asalzwed - 2012-10-25 4:06 PM Oh, by the way, all you Manatees can be jealous. I get to see Kirsten this weekend! More than one Manatee in one place. Waaah ohhhh!

So we should expect an earthquake or some similar significant event?  ;-)

I think that there may be a Manatee Mini Meet in Florida as well this weekend...

Well they are calling for 'Frankenstorm' in my area of the East Coast this weekend/early next week.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Frankenstorm, Snowpocalypse, Raintastrophy, etc! If Jim Cantore shows up in your town, be afraid. Be very afraid. My favorite of all time - Snowmageddon!
You know, none of this storm talk makes me feel good about this weekend's race! . Let's all think nice calm wind thoughts and push the storm way, way east

Snowmageddon in Seattle is like 4" of snow. Commerce comes to a screeching halt and people freak the eff out.

When we lived on Long Island it was the same. Funny how a childs joy can be such a PITA for somewhat intelligent adults.

So I have decided to not race a 5K this weekend. I have a bit of a cold and my coach really emphasized taking it easy this week. I was really going to try and rationalize a 5K being relatively easy (you know, compared to say a 10K? Smile) But naaaah, I'll be good.

I am, however, still going to run in costume. I convinced a couple running buddies to join me.

Yup!

You should see me put it on/take it off. The neck/cape portion has to go up over my head (poor design) giving me a temporary mega-wedgie (front and back)

Yeah, just while I pull it over my head but once it's over it's more like a class II.

These pics might have to be waste up

HOPE YOU'RE ALL SOON FINISHING WORK FOR THE WEEKEND.

I'm kicking back with my DD, watching an early halloween disney movie. Wifey is back at work (at long last). Time for another glass of wine, methinks.

Janyne: wishing you totally safety and confidence and all-around good wishes on the bike.
Ann-Marie: enjoy your race, and I do hope the weather is favorable and not windy or worse.  I *heart* Rev3.
Kate - kick some mud!!
Jen - good luck in your race, too.  Take care of that hand/wrist!
Chris - have a blast volunteering!

Allen: thankfully I do believe wine is on the 'OK' list for our weight-loss plan.   At least it better be!
Salty: you will be the best looking Robin to ever grace the streets, have fun and try to remember to take it easy!
Yanti: speaking of taking it easy, please don't overdo your training and get sick(er?) or hurt

Morning!  Saturday here, pretty cold - going for a run test out the foot.  Just gonna drive to the beach so I can run on a flat route - out and back about 4.5km.  Along the beach is grand though in any weather.

9am got me a bike lesson, Coach Mark gonna put me through my paces!

3pm - swim squad.  I love the Saturday session it's all drill not much swimming

5pm - Greek bbq extravaganza!  yay!

Good luck all you racers!

Yes, happy racing Manatees!Allen, glad to hear your wife is working again. That must be a big relief for all. Now, stop taunting us with your " I'm already off work and on to my second glass of wine" talk. Can't you tell some of us are still toiling away? Salty, good luck ( I guess ) with the whole wedgie run thing.Chris, enjoy leading the pros on the run. Maybe when you're done you can swing back ( and wait a while) and give me a ride. I'm sure no one will notice.Yanti, try not to give yourself some new weird illness.
