August - 2nd Annual Boy's vs Girls Swim / Run Challenge !! (Page 17)

Devouahy -- Thanks for sharing your words of wisdom.  This is my first year as a triathlete and only my second year as a cyclist.  I don't care if I ever place anywhere -- but that I improve where I can and get satisfaction, enjoyment and a healthier self out of it.  I was an overweight smoker for 15 years -- so everything after that is up!

Missed my swim last night.  I'm so pissed.  They had to close the pool because some smart ( insert correct word hear.)   people decided to hop the fence and throw everything not bolted down into the pool including all the gabage, some broken glass and sand etc.   The pool is on post season hours this week from 3:00 th 7:00 to give the kids something to do after school. 

Our pool was one of three in the area that got hit.  I just don't get it.

If the water quality is up to snuff and the pool is open I will be swimming tonight.  If not , a run tonight and a swim tommorow.

Great job CMB.  You are the enemy at this moment, but a goal accomplished is a great thing.  Congrats and big pat on back.

I don't know if it's in the rules or not, but I think there should be some expectations for the avatar, like, for every day the losing team is delayed in getting the avatar changed, it adds 1 week to the length of time they have to keep it up. we will all the girls will have to hold each other themselves accountable for this one.

BTW, I forgot this is a long weekend and I most likely will not be on-line this weekend.  So I'll update the spreadsheet late tomorrow afternoon/early evening before I head home and post the "Preliminary" week 5 results.

Well not that it will apply to us women anyway but some of us do not have pics of ourselves in bathing suits. So some time will be needed for pic to be taken and developed....no I do not have a digital camera.  Besides it is the boys that will need to show em'. But I'm just saying. Oh and by the way I did mention I am 100% done and have extras for the injury pool. Have a good one.

Assuming everyone is off Monday for the holiday -- can we expect the final totals on Tuesday, September 4 and azzatars to be posted within 24 hrs of the final results???

Well I just finished my swim goal, and threw in an additional 540 yards to boot.  Tonight I am planning a 5 mile run I think, that will give me an extra 2.5 miles or so to throw in for the injured people.  Not much but I figure all the extra helps some.

Sweet!  I'm 100% D-O-N-E!!!! All my swim distance is in as of this evening.  I finished up my run yesterday. Even have an extra mile on the run - not that it will help anyone all that much, but hey....every little bit counts!  I am planning a brick for tomorrow morning, so I may have another 3 miles to add to the injury pot. We'll see how hot it gets in the morning.  Let's bring it home girls!!!

given that its a holiday weekend and many people are internet challenged at home i think it should still count...

Hello all from gorgeous Bali, Indonesia. I'm way over run miles and will be finishing up swim with 2300 mixed OWS/pool just under the gun--Fri. Aug. 31.

Lookin' forward to the banana hammock shots. There are some righteous yummy boys in this challenge!

Since I'm going to be out attempting to play golfing today, I'm done for the month,  Totals are:

Goal was 150 run and 30k swim, so I'm at 100% plus those extra 6.45 miles thrown into the injury pot (and I guess 1,200 yards as well).

Great job everyone!!  Make sure to wear flattering suits ladies .......

Both goals met last night with finishing up the swim. 

 I have 2390 yards to donate for the injuried guys swim fund and at least 13 miles for the run fund.  I have another run planned for tonight and If I can get off work before the pool closes another swim.

I'm looking forward to seeing all those assatars of the hard working ladies in their sporty racing suits.  ( I did mention I was not a fan of the 2 piece suits)

Got another swim in this morning. Not counting out the rest of the day because we're headed to the beach.

However, I can not finish my run due to the ear infection and the associated dizziness. I'm disappointed in this because my run times were improving and my first Triathlon is just weeks away.

I am proud of my swimming because just months ago I couldn't swim one length of the pool without stopping, and now I feel very ready for the swim portion of the race.
