Anyone celebrate Festivus around here?

I am too weak, you can tell from the arm pictures in the Halloween albums. I always get my butt whipped in the feats of strength.

haha. I used to beat my brother, but then he put on a lot of weight .

well, I will be ready for Festivus next year... will be lifting a lot in 2008.  You know, so I do better in tris.

I dare you to start a thread in the Strength Forum next week entitled, "What exercises do you recommend to prepare one for the Feats of Strength?" Then in the post, write, "I got my butt handed to me at the annual Festivus celebration. I must get my redemption in '08."

To All My Democrat Friends: Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I got "A Twisted Christmas" in our grab-bag that we do every year.  It's not as bad as one might think...

It was just what one would expect from a Twisted Sister Xmas album.  My 2-year old nephew loved it.  We had on one of the traditional Xmas CDs the other day, and he had no response to it.  Then I put on A Twisted Christmas, and he started dancing.  Looks like we have a headbanger on our hands.

No, but we had a Festivus party last week (the same party where Matt decided to turn into a d-bag). One of the feats of strength was a dance-off. I almost won, but only lost because the other person left at the end was a dude and he got the "dudes with girlfriends" vote. There was a pole - though no dancing around the pole, as was there airing of grievances. Had I known what was going to happen later on that night, I would have aired a grievance myself...

I did tap, ballet, that nebulous genre known as "jazz" and some modern. I also went to college for musical theatre, so "jazz" usually meant classic musical theatre-esque choreography, hip-hop, and choreography based on certain "styles" (swing dance, latin-y tango stuff, etc).

Some people should not be able to pick out on demand movies. Though the one we watched was interesting and involved girls dressed up as ponies, body bags and interesting uses of candles.

The body bags have me confused. Or is it concerned?

I saw three movies this week and actually enjoyed all of them, for different reasons: Juno, I am Legend, and Charlie Wilson's War.

I am not familiar with your guys' tastes in movies, but if any of those movies are along the lines of what you like, I'd recommend it. Juno was just so different and quirky, but the acting was good and the story was cute/good/entertaining. I am Legend was definitely "big Hollywood," but, gees, I haven't had a movie draw so much emotion out of me in a long time. If I had been wearing a HRM, I seriously think it would have shown some spikes in HR here and there. It was seriously intense, and Will Smith was very good. Charlie Wilson's War was pretty much all around good - good story, made you think, educated you, the acting was good, etc.

I was there, and I am still both confused and concerned.  I'm also frightened, sick to my stomach, intrigued, happy, anxious, nervous, nauseous, and in a little bit of pain (but that's only because murphy got in a crotch shot when he jumped up onto the couch).
