I'm assuming you've sent your registration in.  I seem to recall a recent inspire that said running a marathon might be in order if there was an IM in Texas.  

Besides, I agree with Nicole.  The shirt alone would be worth the pain.

No for me in 2011 - YES for 2012.  Already got the blessing from Keri. 

The IM TEXAS 2012 will be almost exactly 2 years from my 1st tri.  Without having a solid base in any of the 3 disciplines I think 2 years is about the best someone should attempt from couch to Full IM. 

This sport has made me one hell of a liar out of me. "Never gonna do another Half mary...never gonna do a HIM...never gonna do a marathon...never gonna do a full IM"  all BS....all goals now.

I am trying to learn my lesson - I believe IM TEXAS is the only Full IM I would be interested in completing.  The plan is to volunteer in 2011 and register for 2012.  I figure I am going to be there all day anyways cheering for ????????? in 2011, might as well help out.

Keri's only concern was that the training may interfere with bedroom marital relations.  She has read plenty of about Ironmen not wanting to give it up during the training.

So I'm not a toucher at all.  In fact, casual touching really freaks me out. 

In my line of work (sales) I meet a lot of people and most of them are good with just the regular old handshake.  Occasionally I'll come across someone who touches my arm while they're talking or something like that, but usually I can control my freak-out-run-away reflex.

Well,  this morning at 8 freaking a.m. I met a guy for the first time at a Starbucks to do a needs analysis on his business and talk advertising.  We've spoken on the phone and via email maybe 3 times prior to this meeting.

When I walk in he walks right up to me and bear hugs me in the middle of Starbucks.  Then he tells me that Jesus is so pleased that we finally got a chance to meet.

My skin is STILL crawling.  I feel like I need a bath.

Emmanem - 2010-06-24 12:16 PM Not sure if anyone saw my logs yesterday but my toe hurts... I woke up 2 days ago and my toe hurt a little, nothing that bothered me too much so I didn't think too much of it.  Well yesterday I wake up and my toe was almost twice it's normal size and hurts a lot worse.  I thought maybe I got bit by something.  It hurt to put pressure on it and it hurt pretty bad when i wore my running shoes to the gym yesterday so that cut out running or biking for me.  Well I thought for sure it would be better today.  I was wrong.  Pain's worse today so I went to the doctor.  I ended up getting blood work done to check my white blood cell count which came back normal.  They sent more blood work off to be tested for gout!  Umm I'm 20, 20 year olds don't get gout!  I'm now on anti inflammatory meds and she told me to keep icing it and avoid putting weight on it until it gets better.... This kinda screws up my training  I'm supposed to get the results back from the blood work tomorrow so I'll know then whether I have gout or this is just some random inflammation.... I wanna go run!!!!! *stomps feet and pouts like a 2 year old*

I'm not quite there yet but am approaching a different chapter in my life where training will  be more limited so I've decided to cut and run with what I've got.  First step towards Kona is to get the 1st one with all the mistakes out of the way. I'm looking forward to the post race party after the miserable 26.2mi run/walk, assuming I can run that far!

As for my particiaption in IMTX I am officially not going to enter the race. I already knew I wouldnt but just wanted to have some secret like post to be cool like EvD.

I dont even think I could be ready in a year. If you say run/walk the 26.2 I would be saying walk/be driven my paramedics. Plus the $600 is a little steep for me. Like Ken though I could someday be a liar.
