ATXtri - 2009-02-10 8:31 AM Herro everyone.

What's up Tex?  How are the feet today?  Getting that trench-foot cleared up yet?

Nada mucho, Sprint. My feet still look the same but I did get fitted for Superfeet insoles last night. Maybe that will help the situation? Spokes - HOLLA!!! Long time no see.

Hope the insoles help so that you don't end up with corns or something.  That would really be gross.

Would corns be that much worse than what i already have going on? ha. I need to stop wearing flip flops and cover these bad boys up.

Yeah, they are a lot worse from what I understand.  Take forever to heal and can reduce blood flow.  Even worse if you're diabetic...although I don't know of many TANners who are.

N0pe, not diabetic although I'm probably headed that direction with the amount of sugar that I eat on a daily basis.

1). Cut the refined sugar out of your diet as much as possible.
2). My older brother is diabetic.  It's not a fun life.

Carp, I don't know that I can. I'm wicked addicted to it...

Just focus on how much stronger you'll be for your IM without all the sugar.

Just think how pissy I'll be until Ironman without all the sugar...

That's going to happen anyway.  Or did it already?

Tex. I thought about your proposal last night and I've decided I'll donate my sperm. I just need a few practice runs ... is that cool?

Bcart: You're going to race a bike this weekend that you haven't finished putting together yet?

Yes. And I will be racing it on wheels that aren't mine. New post is on, just gotta wrap the bars tonight, and tune her for the other wheels. Ain't no thang.

Fair enough.

Now, if you asked me to autocross in a friend's 911 Turbo vs. my little BMW, I would be a little antsy. I'm in my element with this bike stuff.
Don't fear the 911. They're not THAT great. OK they're pretty frickin' great but the MR2 with H&R Springs and Tokiko 5-ways could outhandle the 911 on the road course. Plus if you're autocrossing, turbo cars SUCK. Especiall ones with big turbos and itty bitty intakes.

What, you don't like to have a turbo spooling up right as you get into a corner?

I was just sayin' big powa vs. small powa. I wouldn't be used to it just hopping in and running hard.

You can.  It just really sucks for the first couple of weeks.  After that you get used to it and it's not so bad.

If only ... I used to be the king of the heel/toe and could keep the turbo spooled through the corners but eventually, when you get to a certain point, you have no boost. Physics and such. ANd then you gotta wait for it to spool and then go fast. Turbo cars are not good for AutoX.

I always wanted to tack a crack at riding one of these .  Turbo motorcycle sounds interesting.

I really like the black frame. What color tape are you going with?

Gonna be black to start. I might go with a white saddle & tape later on. I absolutely LOVE the Specialized Toupe saddle on there. Holy cow that thing is comfy. Super-duper light too. 167g actual weight.

Well, comfort is more important than color as far as saddles go. You can only really see the saddle when you're not on the bike anyway.

So true. It'll be the same model if'n I decide to switch.

Bike shop fit guy recommended I go to a specialized saddle that was a little wider in back for comfort, but I don't have $200 handy to swap out the seats on my road and single speeds. Maybe ebay...

I got this one off bikeforums.net. The Road forum has a saddle swap thread, and the SS/FG forum has a For Trade thread. Check 'em out.

I traded a 10-year-old Campy Veloce crank and BB straight up for this $200 saddle. Win.
