Subject: RE: PowerPuff GirlsSo here's the scoop. I am finishing my ride for the night, about a half mile from home. I have to ride about 3 miles through city streets to get out of town. They're mostly residential, lotsa stop signs, yield signs, etc. So I'm coming up on an intersection where I have the right away and cross traffic has yield signs. I look right nothing, look left and there is a car flying down the road. I start hitting the brakes and wait to see if the car is slowing down. A split second later its obvious the car is blowing through the intersection. I lock up the brakes. My rear tire skids out to the left as I skid to a stop just in front of the intersection. By this time the car is halfway into the intersection and I think it may have slowed a little. I manged to get only one foot unclipped so I end up losing my balance and toppling over while the car drives away. Two ladies from opposite sides of the street came to see if I was okay. They complained about how awful that intersection is and one vowed to file a complaint with the city because this wasn't the first time something like this has happened. Honestly, it's not the intersection, it's stupid drivers. At least the last guy who almost hit me (he blew through a stop sign) stopped to see if I was okay. I'm not sure this driver ever saw me |
