MDHillSlug - 2010-03-04 9:56 PM OK, I worked up a team roster. I had a hard time figuring out what background picture should go with East, beast, wind, March so let me know what you think. If it's not showing up here as a picture you can see it on my log page.
I REALLY like the picture... BUT -- did you notice the name of the OTHER team? Here's their team table: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... That said, I'm going to put it on my blog now.

The West team isn't very original, are they?

Oh yeah - you guys knocked off some 90s pop band for your title - that is original right? Wink

Who are the Beastie Boys?  Some 'classic' hardcore punk band in the 80s?  I believe there are several people on this team that were BORN in the 80s and their parents probably didn't approve of this band as part of their nighttime music ritual...

Was it the 80s?  I thought the 90s but maybe late 80s.  I know I didn't know of them during my school years (grad in 84)

Early to late 80's.  Although I wouldn't know.  I graduated in '82...

Beastie Boys were late 80's... wasn't their re-make of Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" their first big hit?  I was never a fan.

Nope that was Run DMC...beastie boy's came out in late 80's and Fight for your right to party was a big hit.....not that I would know or anything!

I've got a long run scheduled for Saturday and a bike/run scheduled for Sunday.  Looks like the weather here should be great for that this weekend!!

Had my long run today, tomorrow and Sunday I have a cycle training with Sally Edwards! I am very excited! The weather is very sunny here, supposed to hit 40's!

Weather's supposed to be in the 40's here this weekend, and I can't wait for the warmth!!  And I have fun plans up the wazoo too Smile  Going out for a friend's birthday tonight.  Up early tomorrow in the nice weather for a 16-mile run followed by brunch w/my training group.  Going to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D IMAX on Saturday.  Sunday's a recovery run w/my tri club followed by more brunching.  Might to go to the Sears Tower skydeck for a friend's birthday in the afternoon (I refuse to call it the Willis tower!!!)  Then poker Sunday night.  Whew!

WOW Busy but fun weekend!

I'll be riding tomorrow with some others from my tri club. I have some concerns about keeping up since this will be the longest and hilliest ride of the season and my base is poor and hills aren't my strongest thing (with a name like "HillSlug" is that any surprise?) Sunday will be a rest day.

ohhh to ride outside....some day soon I hope!

Okay - 2 hour trainer ride is done (after a 3 mile run).  Not fun.  I need to get my bike into the shop for a tune up and then I am outside.  But, I have been indulging in some little Nestle chocolate eggs that I dip in crunchy peanut butter!  I think I'll go have one right now - they're small!  Happy Friday!

I caught the early girl scout cookie talk, Anyone up to recapping?  My weekend plans are going to be a whole mess of yard work and my long run either Sat or Sunday. Oh ya, and taking today to recover from over-serving myself last night.

Well Robin your team admitted defeat 1 day into the challenge but you are playing the month out anyways.

Other than that - not much else!

EXCUSE me?

He's just muck raking, his new job (maybe it would be a good status descriptor).

Should I drop dorkface and go with muck raker???

Think Marma would allow the change?

Just put a request in to Marma - Will have to see if approved or not!

dermoski - 2010-03-04 2:09 PM Afternoon bEASTies...I skimmed the 6 pages of posts since I was last on.  I see we're still talking about food.  FWIW I LOVE the Shamrock shakes from McD's, we don't have Chik Fil-A here, I didn't have choclate for breakfast, but I did eat 2 handfuls of gummie bears at lunch!

I tried a shamrock shake tonight. It was my first one ever and I enjoyed it.
OK, I'll put "Shamrock shake" back on the list of things to try. I'll ignore the calorie count.... Too bad my hips won't.

I only had a small. I have no idea how many calories were in it. It was my son's birthday so that means the calories don't count, right?

I did skip the cake since I had the shake.

Calories don't count on birthday's TopPage

Would it be possible for every day to be my birthday?

Bill (Sorg - not the lurker), you should go comment on the post-count thread in tri talk...they might take away your extreme veteran status...

Is that thread still alive? I posted on it, too. It helped my post count.
