Ended up with over a foot of snow. So Brewer and I went out snowshoeing this morning. Brewer was having trouble with some of the snow drifts, he looked like a deer jumping through them.

wooot! nothin' like runnin' in a blizzard to get 'you should be committed' looks from the neighbors! LOL It was a short run and my husband even thought I was crazy to want to get 'points' saying 'what's the point?" and I asked him..'well, what's the point of playing fantasy football?' and he said "to win"...and i said "voila!" ha ha ha ha!

Temps dipped below 40 for about an hour this morning but it was still too dark (I need better lights) and I was working so I couldn't get a ride in so no points. If the forecast is correct I should be able to start getting points again Wednesday.

It's below zero today.  I might go for a 10 minute run, just to rack up a quick bunch of points    "Too bad" the wind is too light for any points!

COuld only muster up 45 points this evening (30mins @ 1°C with 9mph wind), but tomorrow is looking a lot more promising  - -6°C with snow!

If you volunteer to repair the Dome Roof I will allow those points

You could have racked up major points with the snow you guys got!!!!

Did you do that to give that "F" guy and extra day to rest? Or is it your plot to get a new stadium?

Hey Everyone!

Winter has arrived in the midwest!!!!  I haven't been to the library lately, I had to catch up on all of the chatter I missed.

Today's run at noon was -1 with 8.1 mph wind. You are right, Bill, it is all in the layers.  The sun was shining and it was wonderful.  I DO love running more in the winter than the summer.  I have to worry about hydration so much more in the summer.

Sunday's Marathon will feel balmy compared to here!  It is supposed to be high in low 40's when we start and maybe high 20's when I finish.

I might have snow shoes on my Christmas list this year....

Nichi
p.s. Bill, thanks for the advice on shoes.

YEAH! I got some MAJOR points! In 1 hour  I got almost as many points as when I ran 26 miles 2 weeks ago!  Of course, not all of my miles were point racking miles.

I shoveled a bit of snow(no points, but I do get my mail now!)

Nichi

I had pity on my son who shoveled several driveways yesterday.

Fortunately, for the rest of you, I am on taper week!  Getting points is sorta addictive, ya know!

I have to find out if my husband hid my bike in the garage and if I can get it out now that the 3 snowblowers have been moved!  Ha!

I actually did go out, but it was 6 degrees. Too bad an extra 8 degrees changes the points from 8 to 5!  Man, that's unfair   It was actually really nice - no wind and very sunny.  I was over dressed, even, while earning my little 250 points.

I'm wondering if weather forecasters just place different temperatures and conditions in a hat and draw them at random!
Checked the report last night and the forecast was as quoted, woke up to find it was actually 4°C with no snow (and more importantly no points)!

Smooth!

wgraves7582 - 2010-12-14 7:25 AM Fun ride this morning.  Didn't go too long because of time constraints and having to clear the driveway also.  Made it all the way home and then wiped out in the driveway - too funny!

Going to try and get back out tonight on the skis!

I wanted some points yesterday and today but the ground is SO ICY... I am not a graceful mountain goat (Simpsons episode when Homer is Mr. Plow) so I need to avoid horribly icy conditions.

Anyone else who wants some points - it's -10C outside with some flurries and 24km/h winds! Come play on my ice rink!

So would I. With those little short legs, I might even be able to keep up with him.

Sounds like fun, except for the fall. I hope you're ok. I'm missing the snow here. Even the 6 foot pile of snow from shoveling is completely gone. It's almost 50 this morning.

I have been loving this weeks weather, low singles to below 0 with winds hitting 40 mph at times. Great for points, if I can find the time to get out and train. Is anyone else getting thier kicked by the holiday's. Between programs and parties I am fighting a losing battle with the sugar buffet and am having all my training time stolen away little by little.
