I'm not sure but when I get there i'll be sure to let you know. Swim squad good but my legs were a bit smashed from the run at lunchtime...managed 2.4km in the hour I was there. For those who can't be faffed to look on my training log here's the workout...oh and today's plan is a long run after work - setting off around 5.30 - 15km is the target see how we go, I will run out 5km then try and add that extra 2.5km. Never easy. FINS NO FINS 2 and a half sets of: 2.4km - happy days |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Straight-Up Ridiculous Manatees Part 5 - FULL I hate my job the first week of the semester. Whiny students, faculty that make last minute requests, blah blah blah. Got out for my run tonight. Lead legs again, but got in almost 8km. Legs didn't loosen up for about 3km. Wasn't pretty, but at least I got it in. Have to make a decision on Cultus Tri by tomorrow....$120 to race or to put towards bills..... |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Straight-Up Ridiculous Manatees Part 5 - FULL Awkward, very awkward! So remember little Robbie who failed in his Channel crossing attempt. Well he's back from the UK so being a nice fellow squad person I sent him a text to say hi etc. Now Robbie is a flirt, and look the banter amuses me whatever....but today he went a step too far - he sent me a text and let's just say the underlying suggestion was not ambiguous at all - I'm a coward didn't just shut him down, I just replied Ha! And he said I've been wanting to do that for sometime. I've not replied - I'm feeling jolly awkward now I have to face him at squad - jeez I certainly never gave him any signals at all! This will force me into the faster lane won't it! I don't wanna swim with him in the slow lane now! Awkward! |

Then: "Friends?" and just walk away. Er, swim away. Alternately ... "You're cute and all, but you're just way too old for me. Thanks anyway. Don't call me maybe!" Practice and then just spit it out when you see him. |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Straight-Up Ridiculous Manatees Part 5 - FULL Gonna have to change my Bill Rogers quote - coz clearly tonight there was such a thing as bad weather - went for a run and after 15mins was back home, upset coz I felt great really strong but the wind was stronger and the accompanying hail was hard and icy so tail between legs ran home. BUT I am so proud of myself usually I'd hit the couch if that happened but I hit the drainer - 90mins, planned 30 but kept going and going - yay for me! T.I.T.S all the way (sore behind) |

Getting through a tough one is always a great feeling. OK, this is going to come as a surprise, but I'd say bills should be paid. And you have mentioned the running challenges you've been having as well. So this comes from the responsible member of society that I am. Of course, you could always "participate" in the Cultus Tri "event", not making it a race, but trying instead to learn something from the whole thing without having a time goal or final goal for the entire race. Maybe doing the event and trying to push your run time with your legs being the way they are. Or concentrate primarily on the swim. Or some such thing. By the way, you should beat the students and faculty as well. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Straight-Up Ridiculous Manatees Part 5 - FULL Update time. Cole is home from the hospital. He came home Tuesday. We had our IEP meeting at his school Wednesday (it went horribly) and his intake for his aftercare program yesterday. He started school today (he's not happy) and starts his aftercare program today too. So, I went for a little run to start to get back into the training groove. It was insanely slow and short but who cares, I got out there. Thank you all again for your pm's. It means so much. |

At least with routine, if things are bad you'll them coming. Great job taking some time to stretch your legs (and maybe clear your head a little?). You are one strong chickie, keep it up! |

I think if I went for the race, I would just be mad, because I don't feel like I have it, even to just 'participate'. Swim this morning was really tough, tired, off balance. I've really been focusing on my running for my HM at end of Sept, so will just save it for that. |

I'd say at this point, it's hard to justify spending money on a tri that you are using as training, not racing. Keep a close eye on your fueling and don't sweat slowing down when your legs are heavy. |
