I am supposed to be doing an HM on Sunday, but am not yet sure if my toes will make it to the line.   I screwed up my back/hip on the right side about a week ago (likely doing silly things like chin ups, dips and knee raises).  My massage guy worked a small miracle yesterday (miracles hurt a lot) and I felt good enough to get on the bike trainer today.   If i can manage a short run tomorrow or Friday without pain, I will give the HM a shot.

edit....p.s.  I may have to try the jack and coke breakfast before the HM.

No racing here. No Turkey time here.

What am I up to this weekend? Not much. Maybe I'll celebrate free health care.  Maybe I'll creep on the the single mom with three kids down the street. Lot of options.

I'm jealous

I'm "running" for the first time since IMFL.  Ha, I signed up for the mile "race".  I'll be pacing my 8 yr old daughter while the boys run up ahead.  Then we are finish line volunteers for the 8k that starts about 30-45 min after our "race".  Kids run and volunteer...a great way to start off Thanksgiving (in my book). 

As far as our feast it's my husband that cooks (and he is good).  Our deal is I shop for everything, he cooks dinner, and I bake/prepare the desserts.  This year it is only us for Thanksgiving dinner.  A big difference from the house full we have had the past few years.

Friday should be a good sports day - Nebraska vs Iowa at 11 and then my alma mater (Creighton) has its basketball season opener against Wisconsin that night. Looking forward to it!

No racing for me, unless I am late to the airport Saturday.  I will be flying into Brussels Sunday morning, then driving into Germany sometime Monday afternoon.  This trip is for pleasure, Jayne.  Catching a soccer game in Dortmund, visiting with friends and hitting the Christmas markets. Hopefully, I can find some time to run while I'm over there.

I could have sworn I posted my "OTHER" question earlier in the week! What I wanted to ask is what you are most thankful for this Holiday weekend, but you weirdo Canadians can answer what you're most thankful for everyday of the year!  Why can't you have the same holiday dates as the rest of NA?  oops, was that politically insensitive?

I've finished all the food shopping and done nearly all the prep for tomorrow. Some of Paul's family and my mom are coming over for Thanksgiving Dinner and to celebrate my mom's 89th birthday!  Then we're off to Minocqua on Friday to host/celebrate a friend's 50th birthday.  Whew....before all of that, I am doing the Berby Derby which is our local 10K/5K/5K walk.  Last year we had 8,000 people and this year give the weather we're going to have way more.  Goal is simple, to run fast so I can get home and put the bird in the oven!

Kids will arrive home late tonight! Run a 5k in the morning then workout at the gym. We are going to Paul's parents house. His mom is German, survived losing everything as a child in WW2, and cooks amazingly delicious and large volumes of food. Then we'll watch the Redskins hopefully beat Dallas. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE

No racing for me, dinner with the family at my Mom and Dad's this year, so we don't have to clean house!  Cooking sides, my bro is roasting the turkey! 

No workout tomorrow, I am hoping to be able to stand upright in the kitchen after my crazy class this morning. 

And to answer Minnow's question, I am super thankful to have my family, my health, a roof over our heads and of course all of you!

It's funny living in an area with so many sporty people, apparently we have over 250 Olympians in Noosa; whenever I do an event and get a PR I bump into someone who brings me back down to earth! Tonight I met the real estate agent who sold us our house and he asked how I went in the Noosa tri, when I said 2:41 he went "uhh, well make sure you get under 2:30 next year". After my marathon I met an old guy who said his marathon PR was 2:45 and then gave me a detailed speed plan to get my 10k time under 40 mins.

MMMMMMM sounds like a good turkey!
