Barry,  Sorry to hear you're sick.  I agree with John.  You need to rest up and get better ... then put your time in for Augusta.  If you try to keep training through it (sounds like you have) your body is not going to like you

PSA...A new garmin does not mean you will run any faster.
But, its a friggin' cool piece of technolgy. Going to try to figure out the software tonight. But i love the fact that you can set it to vibrate instead of ring at your set distances.
I may have ran a bit slower as I left the watch in my pocket instead of on my wrist......Wink

That was pretty funny but he did "THROUGH" his club into the sandtrap!

I am here, like Tony I have actually been somewhat busy at work, and vaca last week so I haven't been on-line too much (or even working out for that matter!)  Which is scary because we have a 75 mile ride on Saturday morning biking up to Paradise on Mt Rainer- about 20 miles of uphill!  Views should be REALLY rewarding!  Good thing I biked a few miles early last week.  Haven't done jack this week, but that is good for the body sometimes. 

I will give the situp deal a whirl.... Sounds fun!

HEY I NEVER SAW THE WHO'S RACING THIS WEEKEND ???- I thought we did this on Weds.?

I'm signed up for my very first half marathon this October, the Nike Women's Half in San Fran.  I am trying to find a training plan to follow and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.  Currently I can run 10k with no problem, but when I try to go further, my legs start to feel strained at about 11-12k.

I found this one on the Runners World website. It is for people's first half marathon so I was wondering what people thought.

No racing for me this weekend, but I am more than willing to be a cheerleader!  This weekend is all about the wedding of my very best friend since we were 5 (and yes that is a long dang time!).  Beat you to it Trevor.  Rehearsal tomorrow night, Wedding Friday night and Reception Sunday afternoon.  Barely can get my flippin' workouts in with all the frivolity!

This is the race where I tried to quit on the swim.  I was so tired by the time I got out of the water I pretty much had given up on the race.  It was my first OWS attempt and I really had no idea what to expect.

Thinking I should be crushing last years time of 2:02:15 lol.

Yeah I still have 2-3 TT's to do + maybe a road race or two, Army 10 miler and Marine Corps Marathon so just Tri season over for now, but right after MCM will be on the HIM plan getting ready for Lonestar.

Sarah, I think this is the plan I used back in Feb for my first half marathon...it was pretty successful and lended well to cross training for triathlon.  I followed it pretty closely.  The Nike Half is a pretty fun flat course according to some of my friends who have run it.  And you get that nice Tiffany pendant!  Enjoy!

I'm doing my 2nd marathon in Nov. in the Outer Banks.  My first attempt at a BQ time, so that's kind of a first.  :-)

NO!  Just kidding!

Someone needs to build a spreadsheet of all these upcoming races and locations. Any volunteers?  If there is an opportunity to do a race together, I would like to try to do it.  I haven't built my 2010 plan yet (except for my A race), but will be doing one or two half marathons in the Winter and Spring.  Given the winters in WIsconsin I would be more than a little interested heading South or West in search of warmer temps and friendly faces.

The spreadsheet sounds like a great idea!! :-)

Me so tired.. me sleepy and can't even speak well.  How long do I recover after a tri in which I pushed really hard (sunday nyc??)  I have been too tired to even do my race report. I had family visiting so I got NO REST.  Sunday night - slept 5 hours.  Monday night = 5 hours.  Tuesday night = 4.5 hours.  Wednesday night = 10 hours and still sleepy.  :-) All leg muscles hurt and stiff like boards.  I think I didn't rest after tri and now am destroyed.

Sorry have not been posting. Been rushing around doing stuff and now am utterly exhausted.
