Been thinking of you guys, Trevor and Tracy... ALL DAY!!!! On my run this morning I attempted a hill that I've always feared -- and totally drew strength in thinking about what you would accomplish tomorrow and how small my hill was compared to the day you will have... One that you are FULLY PREPARED to have!!!

I also found myself thinking about how much longer an IM day is when you aren't the one running it. I mean, I'll wake up and track you guys. Run. Track you. Have breakfast. Track you. Coffee, crossword. Track you. You get the picture... ALL DAY LONG I will check in and track you. And my evening will roll in and still I will be tracking you. Even when I get my jammies on, I may still be checking in.

You know what?? When you're out there racing it... IT DOES NOT FEEL THAT LONG!!!!! It's just another training day -- with support, aid stations, and 2000+ of your closest friends. It's SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Oh man, it's all I can do not to enter a race right now!!!! (I won't. I can't. I won't.)

Enjoy it all!! 140.6 miles!! Every mile you complete, you are that much closer to the finish line and all of the glory. FORWARD PROGRESS -- that's always my mantra! Just keep moving forward and you'll get there!!

Wish I were there watching. But I promise to be tracking. Think of us all at those timing mats -- those are our link to your day! Every time you cross one we will be so thrilled to put together another piece of the puzzle of the day that you will come back to tell us all about. Smile!!!

You are strong and beautiful!!! Now go out and make us even more proud than we already are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to seeing the largest Ironman start ever. I will be working when you hit the water but be assured I will be following you as soon as I get home.  You are both a huge inspiration to me to continue training and perhaps one day do my own Irnoman.

A final

Good luck Sugar and Trevor !!!!!!!
you are gonna rock this race
The pinks for Sugar in case you're wondering Trevor.

Out here in Jersey, just starting to rain, and the wind is picking up. Biggest threat at this point is flooding. It was an awesome sureal day here with whirling clouds and nice breeze. On a positive note had a PR on my five mile run today with 8:21 pace, blew away any previous record which was around 8:53 pace. Woo hoo...

Must be those pre hurricane vibes.....

Totally awesome run Bruce. A PB is always great but when shatter previous PR's it's even better.
Way to go.
Maybe it was the fear of getting caught out in the wind

A couple people on our Tri-Team are doing Louisville, one swam a 51:57 and that was only 4th in her AG, there was a 49:something.  Amazing to swim that far that fast.

I saw Tracys husband Doug posted on FB about an hour ago that they were up and on their way down to the start.

Way to go Bruce.  You are going to smash your sprint in Sept.  Hope you're not doing swim practice in your basement today.
