I did a 25k trail race saturday and a 1/2 marathon trail race sunday.  Each had about 2700ft of climbing so it was a tough weekend.  The previous weekend i was at 4 hours on the trainer.

I got in a 55 mile ride on thursday before all the nasty weather hit Seattle!!!  And my long run was 11 this weekend.

Not gonna be so lucky this week!  rain/snow mix here.  I HATE the trainer so unless it's just dangerous, I'll be pushing 60 miles outside this week.  YIKES!!!

Luckily, I am heading to Hawaii for a short 4 night stay next week and looking at doing a 2.4 mile OW swim!!

This is close to my biggest run month ever but he bike and swim ate not quite where I'd like them. February's totals:Bike: 18h 56m  - 366.1 MiRun: 17h 28m 02s  - 142.54 MiSwim: 10h 11m  - 32200 Yd

OK, I think this is my Feb. totals.  First time I used this graph on Training Peaks.  Distance totals are not accurate on the bike as some of it is spin class or trainer ride but time should be.

Swim:  12 hours 12 minutes....30,700 yards

Bike:  22 hours 98 minutes....283 miles

Run: 12 hours 56 minutes....86.99 miles

Swim: 10600.00 Yd - 3h 13m 14s

Bike: 211.67 Mi - 11h 21m 32s

Run: 63.26 Mi - 8h 35m 43s

How did you pull yours from training peaks?  I am not finding it.  Luckily I upload everything from there to here and got it off of here, but I would like to know.  Thanks.

I was planning on racing a HIM in the beginning of June.  But I am really considering switching gears and doing CDA.  I did IMFL and I need redemption.  I had a stress reaction in my femur that limited my running 8 weeks before the race.  Needless to say I had a hard time on the run.  I was on place to break 11 hrs but ended up at 12:20(walked most of the marathon).  I think I am course with training time...my febuary totals are: Swim-6.5 hrs, bike-21.25 hrs, run-15 hrs.  So convince me I should pull the trigger? My only reservation is my leg.  I have been pushing it hard the last month (lots of intervals) so my leg is starting to act up again. So I need to dial it down a bit.  But I think the change to Z2 effort will be a good thing for me.

That's kind of a tough one. To be dealing with an injury currently and make that commitment could be risky. At this point if there are community fund slots still available they will probably still be there in a month or so when you can see how your leg is doing then. I would do zero intensity at this point. Maybe try and train like you are going to Cda and see how you feel in a month. Either way it's an awesome venue and I'm starting to get a lot more excited for this thing.

I agree with Scott. I also agree that you should really back off the intensity.  Maybe also focus on low impact workouts like biking and swimming.  You definitely don't need another stress fracture.

How was everyone's weekend?  Any long workouts, good workouts, bad (hopefully none of these)?  I managed my longest continuous swim ever of 1850 yds followed by my longest treadmill run of 8 miles.  I am feeling really good about my training for my first IM.

On a side note, more snow is coming our way and the mountains were pounded this past week/weekend.

All this snow piling up is going to make the water temp interesting again....

I kinda wish I was going there.  Cold water. Cool air. Hilly roads.

Send me a ticket, and I'll tell you which bar will give you free beer on the night of the race.

So not sure what other way to do this so I am uploading a screen shot.  We did deviate just a touch to stop at Subway on a flat section of road, but that was just as you go up the ramp to get on US95.  If you want more info, let me know and I will do what I can.  There are some big stinking hills that seem to go forever!  Could have missed other signs but I saw at least one that said 6% grade.

Thanks for sharing this info......it does look there are a couple good climbs in there. Glad I live in a place where there are at least a few solid climbs.  Hearing your description of them tells me it's time to step it up a notch or two.

I don't want to discourage you, but I wouldn't want to start training for something knowing that injury was just going to get worse. On the other hand if you feel like it's something that you can push through and will get better with time, I say go for it. The older I get the more I realize you are always going to be dealing with something.

I rode 52 miles today with 2500 ft of climbing and I am pooped. It makes me a little worried. It's only my second long ride so I hope it's just that I'm not at that time in my training. I'm really hungry too!

That's a good ride...I wouldn't worry you following a plan? I know next week I have 3-3.5 hour ride that will be my longest to date...a lot of my miles like a lot of us has been trainer.

Where did you climb?

I had a great run to day outside. This is the second one this week but this one it was warm. It is about 52 deg with the sun high and full of glory. 14 miles in 1 hr 50 min.. It fills great to run in the sun outside on a warm day. Can't wait for more of these days in a row.

Doing the BT training. I live in East Sacramento, so I try to ride in the Auburn foothills. Today's run was perfect weather, low 60s. Gotta love No Ca.
