COURT JESTER ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Det - 2006-03-08 4:09 PM Are we asking about favorite angry/motivational songs?!?!?!? If so, anytime I hear "BYOB" or "Chop Suey" I want to jump up and run around or something. "Casualties of War" by Erik B. and Rakim makes me want to break things (like my crank arms) as well. I like SOD so much because they will be humming along all melancholy and then suddenly they give you a slap in the face and crank it up seemingly out of nowhere. The unexpectedness is what I like so much, and the energy. Well the post was started about angry music. I don't tri train to music so I don't have any motivational training music. Last time I used music to get me jacked for a workout was in the bodybuilding days. So that's the music I posted. Don't you love it when those who don't know the music or artist condem them? *shrugs

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Maybe I am old.....or out of touch, cause I have NO FREAKIN IDEA who half the bands on this thread are. Linkin Park is a fav of mine, used to like Godsmack, Metallica (pre fat and rich days), AC/DC, Van Halen (am I dating myself here?), Nirvana, Pearl Jam (pre stupid song days), Led Zepplin, The Who, Beatles. If you are really interested check out my random Top 10 off of my MP3 every Friday. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() phoenixazul - 2006-03-07 6:23 AM Right, as some of you know, I live a secret double (triple?) life as a sorority triathlete punk rock girl. Part of the punk rock part of my life includes something called Straightedge. Rather than go into a super long explaination about what Edge has meant in my life, here's the wikipedia entry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_edge. And no, it is not a gang nor are we violent...straightedge is a non-violent movement. Anywho, there's this band called Bane. While out running yesterday, I had a mix CD in my player, that had the Bane song "Superhero" on it. There's a part in the song where he screams, 'the difference between hard and impossible is miles wide"...and that really got to me yesterday. The entire song is about being free from poisons (more specifically cigarettes in this one), but here ya go kids. "Superhero" She rolls her eyes and lights another. "One day I'll quit these things they're killing me" She blows her brains right out her f***ing mouth "I just don't know how you do it" Well, there is nothing in me that you don't have deep within your f***ing self. Yes, the body is week but the mind is strong and it controls the body, you are not a slave, and I am not a superhero. The difference between hard and impossible is a thousand miles wide, but that's not what you want to hear. So you live a lifetime of regret instead of moments of uncomfort never knowing how great it feels to be free. BANE! My favorite Bane song is "Holdoing this Moment" |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This time of year, when it's cold and it's full of ice and crap all over the roads Leslie Gore's "Sunshine, Lollipops" song makes me angry! As I run gingerly over the wet ice, shielding my face from the cold arctic wind I hear that horrible song in my head. Sunshine, lollipops, rainbows, everything that's wonderful! What the hey, There ain't no sunshine ... there ain't no lollipops ... there ain't no rainbow .... and it sure as heck ain't wonderful missy!!! |
