Blizzards on Halloween are rare enough to stick in your memory?  How cute  Smile

We've had solid snow cover since Oct 3.

:D That's why you had the winter olympics, and we don't. That being said, that year there was a blizzard that covered most of the upper midwest. And while in MN we can certainly have more than "frost on the pumpkin" in October, other areas not so much. Usually, when non-Minnesotans reference a big snow in the fall, that's the one they mean :p

Left Brain - 2013-03-06 12:27 PM It's not Spring until the first morel is found.

That is not until May around here! It's been years since I have tromped the woods looking for morels.

What's stopping you?  I bet your kids would love it! I have taken mine since they were about 3 or 4 years old.  They still get excited when we start finding them.

They start here about the 1st week in April....they are already popping In Ga.

I can't wait!  We eat them by the bushel!

Sleeting like mad here and the wind is picking up. My son and I got pelted by Monkey Balls (prickly seed pod from sweetgum trees) on the way home. I was going to head back to the gym and swim, but I guess I'll hit the trainer instead.

I dislike Spring. To me March means Summer is just around the corner. Come on down here and do a few runs in July and you will see what I mean.

November is my favorite month.

I can't wait for spring.  Had my first running race of the season last Saturday, it was 27F or so, sunny so it felt great.

Still have a good foot of ice on the ground Frown.

I'm actually looking forward to a trip next week to Washington state because it will be warmer

And the time change is this weekend.

Yes, the kids would love it. Every spring I ask my BIL's to call us when they go (they both own land with woods) but they never remember. Or they don't want to drag 2 little kids along.....

We could try the local state park but it is usually picked over.
