Just as I've signed a truce with Max, Don shows up and muddles it up.

Some folks are worried about the immigration problem on the Rio Grand. I'm troubled by the ones coming south on I-95.

And if we have a tourist season then shouldn't I be allowed to shoot a few.

You have to enter the lottery and get a tag from the state department of fish and game!

I have two states toat come to mind... Montanna: the speed limit is a speed that is safe considering weather and traffic conditions! No rain no traffic no problem go 90 worry free! and Oregon... Did you know they let 18 wheelers pull 3 trailers!!!

Actually I think Montana has gone back to having a speed limit again.
In Australia road trains are pretty common along the outback highways (which are 2 lane roads and many without speed limits.) Make sure you have a good grip on the steering wheel when you pass one going the other way...

We export all of the old and infirm (those who drive 15 mph in the left lane) to warm southern states. We're still working on the young and stupid (who drive 100 mph into the tree).

Apparently I am the only person here to have driven in Naples (not the one in Fl.).  None of us can hold a candle to what goes on over there.  Having said that...

I am of the opinion that northern drivers are more your "F1" style drivers, and you country boys are more your "NASCAR" types.  That would make us all fuel injected and refined in a high performance kind of way, and y'all all carbureted, left turning, and sh*t.

Road trains can be 50 meters (a little over 150 feet) long.

They DO have speed limits (110 km/hr comes to mind), but 'roos don't give you tickets when they stop you

Once you are out of town, you are out of everything...no gas stations, no restaurants, no houses...This was the "rest/tourist info area"

I'll go along with this.  Not Italy, but I've driven a Vespa motor scooter in Greece.  When you're part of a pack 12 vehicles wide on the main drag, waiting for the traffic light to turn, and everyone guns it at once, it's an incredible rush.  Drive anywhere, on the sidewalk if you have to (cars too) in order to keep moving.  Honk long and loud at other drivers, it's totally expected.  Pass on blind corners and solid yellow lines.  Drive like an idiot, perfectly normal.  No one gets mad or flips you off, no one's gonna pull out a 38 special and off you.  It's nerve wracking, but inherently safe as long as you mix in.

Yeah, I lived in Spain for two years. They were pretty nuts there too. I think that that is kind of the way most people drive in Europe. However, I can't substantiate that; I only drove in Spain, took trains elsewhere.

HHMM seems I grew up in NE and everyone uses turn signals which here in Florida are either only installed on about 25% of the cars or just ignored as accesories

I'll be in Florida next taking a break from my fellow Northerners and their wonderful driving. As I travel south through the many wonderful states of the U.S., I'll do my own evaluation with a focus on South Carolina!

Bring on the sun!!

Don't ever, ever  go to Montreal if you have not grown up driving there.    It wins in Canada for the worst driving
