(shameless)...see above.

I haven't run any shoe except Asics Gel Nimbus since 1998? They're perfect for my feet, rock solid stability-wise, and they last for-ever.

I make sure I notice when the new Nimbus' come out (either updated style or version, they're on VII right now) and then I go score some discounted color or previous version, usually from Zappos or RRS or Dick Pond online. Knocks that spicy $130 meatball down to $80 or so, and I'll by two pair at a crack to hedge against my scam never working again. :)

I don't think I have a favorite, but I've bought more Brooks running shoes than any other brand. Currently; Glycerin 3 and 4.

Second the motion on Brooks shoes. I used to have serious knee pain before I was properly fitted in a new pair of Brooks Radius. Now I run in the Radius for longer runs and the Axiom for 10k and below. Great shoes!!

Pearl Izumi.  Went through 3 pairs of the VisIQ and now I'm on my first pair of the Push.

Fantastic gear.

I have my first pair of Asics Gel Nimbus. I absolutly love them. I have about 75 miles on them already. Since i got them, I have run further ND faster than ever before. I have absolutely no pain since I got them. I hope they are the "right" shoe for me!
*I have had lots of Nike, NB and now the 1st pair of Asics...I love them, and they love me!

have your Asics ever blistered you on your arches at all?  Just curious.  If I get blisters from  mine that's where I get them

YES!  Only on my left foot, but just like the pics you posted.  I switch to Mizuno and so far, so good!

rollinbones - 2005-12-08 10:12 AM Is there a big difference bween the asics 2100's and the kayano's? I'm 5'10", 190 lbs and have been wearing the kayano's but I'm wondering if i can use the $50 elsewhere. thnx

I've tried the Kayano's, but they didn't do anything for me that the 2100s couldn't do so I save the $50+. I'm even considering trying the 1100s ($75 list) that god a good review as a stability shoe in the last issue of Runner's World.

I've used Asics since I took up running years ago and I've stuck with them ever since, using the 2xxx series.  I always found those comfortable and well cushioned,

Recently though, I noticed some heel pain so I went with the better padded Kayano and have had no problems since.  So for me, the move up was warranted and worth the extra money.

Brooks all the way...they have a "Mis-Match" program for a freak like me. My right foot is a 13 and my left is a 11.5 so I have to buy two pair of shoes in all of my athletic shoes. I always buy closeouts or discontinued to get a deal. Now with Brooks, I can order one pair (13 and 11.5) and pay regular price plus $25. This puts me in a new pair of shoes for less than buying two pair on closeout. Brooks has a new loyal customer.

BTW, knee pain has disappeared since I started wearing Brooks!!!!
