Granted, Reebok was caught lying...but, I don't get how they proved that. The didn't prove without a reasonable doubt anything. Reebok wasn't technically caught doing anything. The lawsuit was settled before going to trial, so nothing was proven. Reebok just took the cheap and easy way out instead of loosing and being caught lying |

Come on already. Does EVERY thread have to devolve into “blame Obama”? Does every criticism of Obama have to refer back to what Bush did? Last time I checked Obama was the top man in our government. Oh and to answer your question, no. But it's more fun that way. |

So false advertising is ok? We should just accept that and customer beware? I am all for customer beware and stuff but I see no problem with laws that prevent false advertising. Perhaps you could explain to me who was injured and what the injury was? Other than the money they spent on some shoes that didn't live up to the claim? Was someone killed because of this? Was someone physically injured? Did someone buy the shoes, sit around and not get in better shape? ![]() Where they dangerous to anyone? How about the FTC hold our elected officials to the same standard they do the people who actually create jobs! Have you seen these things? They're hideous. Any woman who wore those things has a claim ![]() |

She ended up at the docs office for some hip pain. Hip pain turned out to be arthritis (she is only 30). Her doc says it's because of the shoes. He told her to go get some decent shoes before she runs again. Not getting into the whole political thing. But since you all were asking if they hurt anyone |

On the other side of the coin if there wasn't a clear warning label on the shoes warning about this very condition or the possibility of it, I agree she should sue for Millions! |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() We have a lady here at work that has always walked with a cane due to leg and back issues (10 years that she has been here). She switched to those shoes and within a couple of months she no longer walked with a cane. She is on another floor and I don't always see her, but we were in the elevator and I noticed she didn't have her cane and commented on that fact. She swears by these shoes and completely attributed her improvement to the shoes. |

No crunchs, no situps, just let the electronic impulse contract the abs to make you look like a greek god/goddess. What is the show that looks like a gravy boat? Sketchers.? |

MBT shoes, which I believe the 'toning' shoes were based on, were designed to get rid of back pain so that is plausible. but they did not advertise that your pain will be reduced, they advertised that you will tone your booty |

![]() Do lawsuits / federal shakedowns like this, well are they something that would encourage or discourage an individual or encourage an individual to open a business? Would it encourage a big business to open up shop here or go to another country? How about the add in the local supermarket flyer for spare ribs but has a picture of baby backs, how much should they cough up? How about the claim that this pack of pre cooked baby backs has 75% more meat? We the people are the ones paying the costs of these (imo ridiculous costs) lawsuits and questionable federal regulations and their "random" enforcement. The only thing that is surprising to me is that we still have such low unemployment and as much commerce as have with current rules business is forced to comply with. |

And went away when they stopped. |

I purchase often from a flower company, I won’t name it here. It’s not 1-800-flowers though. But, a true competitor of theirs. I got a class action letter in the mail a few years ago, advising me that there was a settlement, and it showed the defendant (the flower company) and the plaintiff (a customer, named specifcally) He alleged that this company was false advertising and saying that their flowers came ‘fresh’ from wherever. Anyone I have ever sent these flowers to, have always raved over them, so I didn’t think there was anything wrong with this company. Well, apparently, this guy somehow tracked where his order came from, and it was traced back to not a local farmer, but a flower boutique in the area. He sued, and won! The award was free flowers for all the people who had bought flowers in a certain timeframe. That was cool, I guess. But, I just thought it was interesting that he won. Were the flowers delivered in the "toning shoes"? Perhaps that was the problem. |
