Twelve years ago I met my husband, who's first wife cheated on him with someone at work. Needless to say, he tried to make this my issue. I politely declined to make this my issue while still acknowledging his pain. It took some work over the years, but I made it clear that while I loved and respected him with all my heart, he would lose his insecurities, or he would lose me. So fast forward to today...my best friend for the past several years is a guy from work, and we all three get along as happy as clams. Scott is actually the only one of my friends that my husband likes! I guess my point is, trying to control anyone is wrong - and people can change if they are motivated by love and treated with respect. Of course, he may just have changed because I am so HOT!

I'm blessed to be married to a woman who trusts me implicitly (and I her), and we honor that trust.

I do correspond casually online with the occasional woman. When I do so, I keep the conversation strictly to topics and comments I would not mind my wife reading. That's basically my litmus test. "Would Mrs. BG be upset if I said this?"

The key is, this is a self-imposed rule. I do it to honor her and to honor my vows, not because she requires it of me.

I also tell her about interesting things I learn or comments I give/get.

THANK YOU to those of you who took my questions seriously. It's really nice to see so many people who are open and honest and considerate of their spouse.

I am member of a running board - similar to this one... We get together do races, pre/post parties - since we have runners all the country -you are always meeting someone new ... in fact- few of us are doing 190 relay- Madison to Chicago in June - ... My boyfriend Bob of 8 yrs has meet some of my internet running friends at events... He never said anything about it...
We had some romances on our board - even a marriage...
