Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Done, but I take exception with the content. The day we take sound MEDICAL advice from Men's Health magazine, we'd all be better off putting a bullet in our mouths. You mean to tell me that seomhow, a magazine which espouses recipies created from opening a can of stuff and slathering it on meat and for "Drive your woman crazy" is somehow qualified to inform about medications? I think not. " crazy bad side effects": You ignore the statistical argument. In the VAST percentage of patients (no drug is 100% safe in 100% of the population), the risk / benefit ratio is far in favor of sensible use of medication to relieve symptoms and ameliorate disease. My issue with your position is that it came across that it's never a good idea to consider any of the medications in the discussion. You basically validate the position of Men's Health and didn't advocate that in MANY patients, these and most all script and OTC medications are great, safe and effective tools for disease and trauma relief. Yes alternatives exist (ice instead of celebrex is sensible for acute sprain but not for OA/RA), but the whole story overplayed the risk side of the equation and bolstered the authenticity of "Men's Health" at ignoring such journals as "JAMA" or "New England Journal of Medicine". |

so did you read the Men's Health Article? uhm the data they pointed to about Advair is from the NEJM - in fact it led to the BLACK BOX warning that all LABAs have now. did you listen to what I said? in the appropriate patients and for appropriate lengths of time these drugs have a place. That in fact I use advair personally! it was a 3 minute 42 second piece on DAYTIME tv

chill Great job. I picked up on your comments regarding appropriate drug for the appropriate patient...I didn't understand the segment to display you defending/supporting the article. You came across well on the segment and live television can be tough. Neat to see one of us out there in the media speaking as an authority on something...not a witness. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great job with lots of information. Here I thought I was just paranoid to take to many meds. Sounds like I was correct to try and limit what I take. |
