I love all of the microbrews in Alaska. But if I have to pick one that I can get fairly often It's gotta be Shiner Bock. Between my love of Shiner, Freebirds, and Texas country I could get along very well in the lone star state.

I used to be known as the beer god.

Which reminds me of a favorite quote, Ben Franklin:

And just to let you know that Fast Tap actually works. It was developed on the southside of Chicago in Calumet City, The Land of Al Capone. Takes approximately 3 seconds to get a 16 oz pint with the perfect amount of head, about 1/2 inch. No spillage unless you are drunk of course. Which by the end of a 9 inning game at Wrigley Field in the bleachers you usually have to make an additional trip to the stand. Oh yeah Beer, any beer as long as its cold, is a good beer.

Even though UT is considered a non-alcoholic state...I have found Blue Moon is good but I like the following local brews. Wasatch Brewery's Hefe-Weizen, Polygamy Porter, and their Rasberry Wheat are good. From Squatter's Pub, the Chasing Tail Ale, Provo Girl and India Pale Ale drink well. And lastly, Red Rock has a rasperry wheat, a barvarian weiss, and an oatmeal stout that tantalize the palate.

In Krebs OK they have a little brewry they make a beer called Choc, took a tour and did a little sampling, pretty good stuff for a tiny OK town. Have a friend in Houston who has a personal relationship with Saint Arnolds brewry, their stuff is pretty good too for a smaller brewry.

Another favorite in this area is the beer from New Belgium, we actually have to travel to Kansas to get it......the favorite "Fat Tire", have to love a beer with a bike on it......

My all time favorite, Lindemans Peche, it's a chick beer.......

All great stuff, but don't miss Eddie McStiff's.

Wasatch Brewery has a new beer called Evolution Ale. And, just like names of preceeding beers it has caused a stir. Haven't had the opportunity to sample this yet.

Eddie McStiffs? Isn't that down Moab way. I have not hit that establishment yet. I have sampled a few from the Moab Brewery however.

That it is, but it's widely available in the grocery stores in Park City and not hard to find in SLC.

All this beer talk, motivates me to get the H-E-double tooth done and on with my real life. I can't wait for next week. Family gatherings and beverages flowing. I hear Brad Paisley's "Alcohol" floating through my head!

"I can make anybody pretty.
I can make you believe any lie.
I can make you pick a fight with somebody twice your size.
Well, I?ve been known to cause a few break-ups,
An' I've been known to cause a few births.
Well, I can make you new friends, or get you fired from work."

I love beer, but I can't stand IPA's. Tastes like my gym socks smell.

Here's what I think should be done with IPA's:

Hey, we can't forget about our good ol' hometown brew Abita!  (yeah, I know it is actually on the North Shore).  Plus, I know they have to be hurting a bit post-Katrina.

Abita Amber or Turbo Dog are my favs!
