Chris Having to display a penalty avatar for the month made me think about creating a nonavatar penalty! Yes, I'll be happy to lose this Twinkie. Only 12 more Twinkie days left! (But if Husker_Tri_Girl doesn't start running soon, our team is going to have problems winning the Run Challenge. And if I have to display the penalty avatar next month, well, it could be even worse than the Twinkie....!) |

Count me in!! I can certainly understand wanting to lose the twinkie - although I do have to laugh because displaying the twinkitar as a penalty rose out of smack talk and wasn't part of the original rules - you guys are just great sports And the twikie smack talk was a lot of fun. However, - lesson learned - you never know what might emerge during the course of a challenge At least October is almost over! LOLOL |

I like the idea of geographic teams, as there's a chance you will run into each other in person while completing your goals. As most of us know, it's fun to meet real live BTers once in a while! Now, off to contemplate my November goals for a bit...... |

I did put up an original post, but I've reconsidered some of the "rules." Besides, it went up WAY too early. I tried to delete it, but it was past 30 min, so there it sits. Notice how I'm replying to lots of other threads, in an effort to bump it DOWN, and off the first page. LOL I'll probably put up another "official challenge post" next weekend. Or people can reply here. Whichever. Yes, the Twinkietar came out of the smack talk. But, my team didn't win. So the Twinkie, it is. A bunch of us are displaying them this month, actually. The Twinkie smack talk definitely made that challenge interesting! (Karl has the best Twinkie avatar of all of us.) Edited by D001 2007-10-21 6:16 PM |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: November Challenge charge4brendan - 2007-10-21 7:20 PM If we end up going geographic will anyone draft a lost soul in a foreign land??? Yes, if we go geographic, there will definitely be "accomodations" for everyone. I'll figure out how to create the teams later. So far, these have been suggested: - Random teams (with teammate requests considered) - Geographic location (and yes, there will be a team for everyone, no matter where they live.) - Boys vs Girls Other suggestions are welcomed. So if you have ideas, here's your chance to give them. Also, once I get a better feel for how many people will be participating, I'll look at the numbers and try to figure out a good way to set up the teams. (For example, if there are 50 women and 2 men, then "boys vs girls" would be a problem!) (BTW, the Sept Challenge had geographic teams, and there was a "ROW" team (Rest of World). And they WON the challenge. (Which resulted in the need for me to display a losing twinkie avatar this month....) ) Dee Edited by D001 2007-10-21 7:34 PM |

Yeah. That's right. That's why YOU aren't displaying a Twinkie this month. But Karl (who was on the ROW team), is. And then there was the East team. We were well ahead of EVERYONE for three weeks. And then, poof. Gone. I blinked, and we fell to third. Or fourth. Whatever. Either way, it earned me a Twinkie on Display.... OK, there's one reason NOT to do geographic teams this time around. Because the East team LOST last month. And I still live in the East. And I don't wanna lose anymore. Pppfffttt - losing $ucks. We can always do random teams - and include team requests. So team requests could be specific people, or even locations. (For example, someone who lives in CA could request to be with others from CA.) Or boys vs. girls. That ought to result in some good smack talk. Dee |

Master 2429 Falls Church, Virginia | Subject: RE: November Challenge I'm starting to get pretty excited about the November challenge. I'm still mostly running, but the October challenge helped me set some serious milestones and stick to my training plan. I can't believe it took me this long to do a challenge. As for teams, I really don't care. I like "meeting" new people, so however it gets set up is fine with me. As far as changing avatars, does only the winning team get to keep their original avatar? So all other teams have to change, or is it the lowest ranked team that has the punishment? Just wondering what others will have to do next month. |

For the November challenge, there will be no avatar penalty. It'll be a signature addition that gets displayed during December only. For this month's October challenge, um, Cat - where are you? Cat's the person who can answer your question.... I had just interpreted the rules as "all losing teams" get the penalty avatar change. But my take on it could be incorrect.
