Morning, Nibbs!

New thread and I didn't even hit page 1?

Dentist this morning for me and Younger Monkey...and then - gosh? I don't know. A trip to the running shoe store, a trip to Performance, a nice long workout...yes, I'm a lady of leisure since I turned in my draft yesterday.

OK, not really - but I have room to breathe atleast.

For those of you who don't step foot in COJ (heaven forbid)...do you know anything about ANTS?

We have little teeny black ants in our dishwasher. Make me nuts. I'm calling around for service because they are blatantly ignoring all of my home remedies (cinnamon, chalk, vinegar, baking soda) and everyone wants to sell me a year contract. Do I really need this or can they get rid of my ants in one treatment? Are these multi-visit treatments worth it?

Gracias!

little black Ants - had those once, I never did find a home remedy that worked - had to go with the treatment or maybe I just moved.................can't remember for sure - LOL

JK had some sort of treatment done, it was a long time ago so the details are very foggy and I'm sure there's new stuff that's come along

good luck

Kristen, we use Ortho Home Defense to keep the ants out of our house.  We usually buy a big container from Home Depot because it has a better sprayer.  Then you spray outside on the perimeter and on the window sills.  It works pretty well and it's a lot cheaper if you need to re-apply it..

ants are making me crazy this summer too..  Course my kids leave stuff out which they are attracted to, then leave spills all over...Plus the cat food is out all the time so there's always something for an ant to get into.....

I had them in my master bedroom closet. Gross!!!! We had to do the treatment because once the spray stuff would wear off (2 days) they would be back. And since they're in your kitchen, you might need their fancy - non-toxic- to -humans -but -deadly- to- ants killer stuff.

I stick the cat food bown in a tray of water. that discourages the ants from getting to it. As to the dishwasher I dont' have a soulution beyond trying what Jen has suggested.

I was having a busy day at work.  Then I completely screwed up this morning.  I forgot to add something to a reaction and it completely screwed up.

For anyone that's interested in the specifics, I forgot to add NTPs when converting cDNA to fluorescent cRNA.  Somehow I got some labeling, but I can't trust it enough to use it for a microarray.  Too expensive.

On the plus side, I am a lot less busy at work now.
