Out of an abundance of caution, the packet pickup will be held in the
hallway of South Lakes High School on Saturday Sept. 6th from 11 am until 3pm.

As for contingency plans, the Reston triathlon is a sanctioned race by USAT
and must follow the USAT rules. We will continue to watch the weather and
the Board of Directors will decide the safe and appropriate course of action
and post our decision on our web site. _www.restontriathlon.org_

WTF? The local weather says scattered t-storms on Saturday, but Sunday is supposed to be fine.

That's not the same case for Patriots. But up here, it's supposed to be fine by Sunday. It says high 80s and sunny.

Saw this on the TriRats Yahoo Group and someone said that if it rains too hard on Saturday the bacteria in the lake might be too high and unsafe to swim in. That would totally stink! This is my first Oly and I really was anticipating a good time...slow...but good!

It's my first Oly too. I'm still going to suck, but I want the opportunity to suck at the entire thing. And I don't want to have to run, then bike, then run.

Run bike Run would suck, but I would be really happy with Bike run Bike  

Oh, and there are some good mountain bike trails on the other side of the road from the lake, we could do Muddy Moutain bike, Tri-Bike, then Run.  That would be ultra-sweet.

The weather on msn, which is either weather.com or weatherchannel.com continues to say rainy tomorrow, sunny and fine on Sunday. The weather should be FINE on Sunday. Now, the lake being all icky from the rain is another thing, and I don't want to do a du.

Yeah I think they just canceled them b/c they didn't see a need for everyone to come out in potentially bad weather for a meeting that we probably could do prior to the race.  We still were told to report at 7am to the race site on Sunday (and this was as of like 9pm Thursday night) so as far as I know, there is still going to be a race on Sunday.  Not sure about the lake conditions, but the latest storm track has the storm near Jersey at 2am Sunday, so I don't see any reason why the weather would stop the race based on the current models.

The race is supposed to start 7 am. They don't want you guys there an earlier? That's weird.

I got the post race food assignment, so we have some time before we expect our first customers

Yeah, someone posted the link yesterday. I keep checking it to see whether or not they decide to can the race or turn it into a du. I'll take some precautionary doses of antibiotics if it means I don't have to run bike run. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but with my hip the way it is, a 10K is all I want to do...er, I mean, du...and such.
