Luckily they will be going on my faithful old Bianchi.  So, uh...if I start to fall behind I'll just HAVE to ride my new SPEEDY Cervelo, sans power cranks.

OK, I'm in. This should keep me honest. I've got 40 miles for the month so far, and 10%/week puts me right at an additional 150miles!

Lara_SD - 2005-04-10 9:04 PM ahem... i think you are about 112 miles short on Mr. Madcow...  races should count too!!!  you still rode the miles

Going by the logs, miss, as a starting point. Real thing that matters (in this challenge at least) is the miles ridden after 4/9.

By the way, instigatoress, I don't see YOU taking the challenge here. Do we even OWN a bike?

I'm looking forward to seeing my name in Bear's sig. No offense, Kim, but in the last year on BT I've learned 2 important things about bear: 1 - challenging him only gets him totally focussed and motivated and 2- I really, really, really don't want to see a picture of him in that pose. Really. I don't.

Well, thanks for the naysaying, makes me WANT to make you look at a pic of bear in that pose.

And by the way, #1 applies to me as well. Don't underestimate me!

Man, y'all quit riling her up, she's got enough motivation as it is, and is proving to be pretty stiff competition.

Looks like we both will run into weather difficulties today.

Oh, why not... but it'll have to be scaled a bit..

I'm at 59 miles to date this month. With a rest week in the middle, I'll shoot for 175 miles total for the month (115 more from here out).

I read about this this morning but couldn't post.  I want in!  I only had 33 miles in this morning but put 20 on today.  Just to be fair, I'll shoot for 200 this month.  'Course, I'm doing the miles on the my Stealth bike, so I'm not exactly how far I'll really go.  But, I'm shooting for 200 miles.

Dang,

I just saw this today. As of 4/9 I had 49 miles logged. All outside. (I added another 20 on the spin cycle so those don't count right? ) So putt me down for 200 more for an even 250. Woo Hoo. Ovetta.

Woops. I forgot the 20-mile ride I did on 4/9. So I really had 69 miles logged by 4/9. So I need 181 miles for an even 250. Woo Hoo.

Can't wait to shatter the goal and see my name in Kim's sig!

Matteight - 29.4 so far. I will commit to 150 for the Month of April.

Bear/Kim, on April 23 I have a 20 mile Tour around Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. Fee Paid $20. Does that count as logged miles, or it is TRUE training only??

Miles are miles.

If you would, log it as training (as opposed to a "Race Report", mainly because I'm using that as a score sheet to track everyone's mileage. Actually, I have, um, three centuries scheduled this month that I plan on counting.

autumn,

Just log your miles into your training log. I'm going to use that to tally everyone's total rather than add everyone's individual miles. That's why we asked for logged mileage as of 4/9, to give us a starting point, and why I asked you to set up Mr. autumn (Bill) a sign-on name.

Happy riding!

Bear, put me down.  Pre 4/9 I had 74.9 miles.  I'm down for 300 miles on top of that by the end of the month.

By the way, John, I don't see you on the list...

Um, since you've obviously been hibernating, Kim and I have the initial wager where I'm trying to double her mileage for the month (up to 200 miles more than her). But if you must, I can guarantee I'll top your 300 between 4/9 and 4/30.
