I do have most of their status updates turned off so my tri/local friends are the only ones I get When I first saw that suggestion in the forums...and yes, I browsed the mafia wars forums a few times...I decided I wouldn't do it. I see it as borderline cheating (no offense to those who do it...just a personal choice). I browsed the forums looking for some specific answers. Like if some feature was broken I looked to see if it was broken for everyone else, etc. It's amazing what some people do to play this game....they use their extra character simply to loot to get them stuff to gift to themselves. CRAZY! Lotto results for this week should come out soon, right? |

I sent out a TON of friend requests and added "mafia wars" to the request. I would get about 20 new friends a day and then add them to my mafia... THEN you can delete them as friends as to not get all the crap they say, but they are still in your mafia. It took a lot of work, and something I probably wouldn't do again. The upsides: You rarely get attacked cuz people are afraid of mafias that are 501 strong and you win 80-90% of your fights and robberies... There is no shortage of energy boosts. The downside: It took a lot of work weeding out MW friends and real friends to delete them. I also got banned from adding friends by facebook for a couple days because I must of had 1000 friend requests and deleted them all. You can't help mafia members do jobs if you are not thier friend (not a big deal). |

I would get about 10-15 at a time, get them in my mafia then delete them as friends. It was easier to do a few at a time than everyone at once. the advantage of being part of a mafia family is if someone is picking on you, you can report them to the family and they have enforcers to deal with them, Plus there are alliances with other families so you can't be attacked by them but there are groups that are warring so you get attacked non stop sometimes.. I think I only have 480ish in my personal family but I'm now level 320 ish I'll get attacked but My defense numbers and weapons are pretty high up there so it's rare that I'm killed anymore. |

I'll take care of you when I get home.  I'd rather not add "total strangers" to my mafia just to get a bigger family but am OK with BTers. That whole "add for Mafia Wars" and then delete as a friend thing sounds WAY too complicated. I know I'm only hurting myself since my mafia will stay small...but...I just can't bring myself to do it.Question for you guys...obviously I have several people in my "mafia" that are just people that had the Mafia Wars application but don't play...kind of like they clicked on a join request but never followed through. I've tried sending a few of them some weapons and stuff so that my mafia is stronger. This works, right? Everytime people have gifted me stuff it automatically shows up...I don't have to click to accept or whatnot. So if I send some high attack/defense stuff to the "non-working" members of my mafia, am I helping myself? Or wasting my time? |
