are you volunteering to be our team leader.

Since I won't actually be contributing by running, being team leader is the best I can do to contribute to the team.

Who has specific goals in mind?  I am still balancing a need to get back my fitness against avoiding knee injury from over-doing it.  I think I am going to try a modest amount of mileage and not do anything stupid.  Maybe 31 miles for the month which is a mile per day.  Not much by any means, but enough so that I can run a couple or three days per week and still have plenty of rest and recovery.

Whew... almost didn't find the thread this morning... with the new name and all...

THinkin' I'm gonna go for 12 elliptical/cross-trainer sessions of minimum 15 minutes each... hoping this doesn't lead to a stiff knee... gotta get this range of motion back

If you can avoid it, do not have your ACL replaced... recovery sucks!!!

Hey -- I've joined the Crypt!   I'll fit right in -- I'm old and slow.

Ramping up for Marathon #6 in January (I can't believe I said that) so my goal is 60 miles for October.

Let the smack talk begin!

Keep in mind that you can always increase you goal during the month if things are going well.

This morning my PT said she hopes I'll be able to start running again by the end of October. She's always been more pessimistic than my foot doc (who I see tomorrow). Since I still experience pain after a bunch of standing/walking I've been agreeing more with her.

Well hello fellow Crypt Keepers (I like the name). First off I'm Mindy and as I have already stated I am a CRAPPY RUNNER!! I decided to do this challenge because I’m a crappy runner and truthfully I hate it but I need to get better at it.

I haven’t been on the site for too long and in fact I just started doing tris over the summer, only sprints so far... Anyway I am really excited to do this challenge and although I probably won’t be chatting to often because I'm so busy, I will try as often as possible to get my two cents in. Good luck to everyone!!

I will be sure to get my goal up as soon as I figure out how much I would like to do.

Hey Team

My  goals  will be , Running distance  60miles

If i get in a Running  groove i will probably do more . But if its like september

then : It will be hard to complete.

Right now i seem to be doing mostly bike and swim .

I train year round as i find  it helps me sleep , relieves stress

and helps control my weight.   I have planning on doing a Half marathon

in early november  and 5 & 10 kms  here and there .  The next one in on Halloween

morning .

Hi Paul,
I remember your smack talk from some of the previous challenges so it will be nice to be on your team for a change!

Hi Teamies! Glad to be one of the crypt keepers, and thanks Nicole for being team captain. I've set a ridiculous goal of 175 miles this month, but I really need to hit it since I have a 50k trail run coming up December 5th.

Go Crypt Keepers!

Hi Roni,

Wow, that's quite a goal! It's more than half of what I've managed all year...

I'm keeping track of all the members and I'm working up a roster (you can see it on my log page); I'll hold off on distributing it for another day or so while we wait for additions.

Hi everyone,

My name is Travis.  I am undecided how many miles I am going to obtain, but will narrow it down over the next few days.  I recognize some familiar names, but have been away from the challenge forum for a few months.  I only completed one sprint tri in June and did a team relay (Newton 8 hours of tri) on Sat.

Hi all!  As someone slower than death, I like the name!  It looks like this will be a fun team and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

My story:  This is my first year of tri's.  I finally fell off and then had the training bus back over me a few times for good measure in September so I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things in October.  I'm still working on what my goal is but since I really need to use this winter to work on my running this challenge will definitely get me started off on the right foot!  (I know, I know *groan* at the bad pun)

I saw my foot doc this morning; if all goes well I might be able to start running in a few weeks! In the mean time I'll still be doing 2x/week PT, swimming and biking.

That's great news!  I know you've been frustrated by that all summer!  Just be careful
