I am still balancing a need to get back my fitness against avoiding knee injury from over-doing it. I think I am going to try a modest amount of mileage and not do anything stupid. Maybe 31 miles for the month which is a mile per day. Not much by any means, but enough so that I can run a couple or three days per week and still have plenty of rest and recovery.
Keep in mind that you can always increase you goal during the month if things are going well. This morning my PT said she hopes I'll be able to start running again by the end of October. She's always been more pessimistic than my foot doc (who I see tomorrow ). Since I still experience pain after a bunch of standing/walking I've been agreeing more with her. |
