Pro 5123 Canandaigua NY | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread KathyG - 2009-11-14 8:44 AM Here's the list from the other IMFL '10 roll call thread...feel free to add or correct your entry. I like those who put their first name next to their BT name. If you may want to update that if you want makes it easier to get to know folks real names instead of screen names it is helpful come IM weekend. In FL we all were standing in the water going for a swim Thursday and everyone introduced themselves by first names which are hard to connect with screen names for some of us. Extreme Veteran 413 Clayton/Raleigh, North Carolina | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Does anyone have an opinion about the Top of the Gulf hotel? Last time I had looked at this stuff, it looked to be about the closest I could find to start/finish and it was relatively cheap. Is it decent and am I correct about it being close? Thanks! |

Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Good morning IMFL '10 peeps. I just did IMFL, and it was my first IM....had a blast! It probably seems like it is quite a ways from now, but you will be standing on the sand in PCB before you know it. I wish you all the best in your journey....Be safe |

Champion 8766 Evergreen, Colorado | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread So I was busy with my parents in town...I see the Ironman site says IMFL sold out...but how fast did it sell out? I'm just curious.... NM....resurrected the active.com thread from registration day...two hours, not bad. I am glad I was able to go over there to register. It helps living an hour away. I would have been all frustrated with active and it wouldn't have been worth the stress. Edited by jldicarlo 2009-11-15 10:05 AM |

Veteran 126 Lakeland | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I'm staying at the Boardwalk hotel. A friend of mine stayed there this year and said it's Holiday Inn level of quality. Nothing great, nothing horrible. But it's right by swim start and transition and since this is my first IM, I want easy. Next time when this is old hat, I might go for a farther away place. But I feel that race morning is hectic enough without transportation issues. Looking forward to meeting all of my BT buds next year. PS I feel so out of place because I don't have a cool screen name, I first signed up on BT just to use it to track my training. Well if it feels better you can call me by the screen name I don't have "Batman" |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Mike not having a cool BT is okay as when we meet you next November we'll know your name. Some folks it is hard to know their real name when we meet them as we have been corresponding as xxx name for a year. Next year will be awesome and connecting with others doing same race makes the journey special..... |

Must be because Mike is such a perfect name in the first place, why change it? |

Expert 1091 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I don't quite know how I got here...I blame training with my #1 training partner on the the IM lite program this summer while he prepared for IMKY!!! He will be adding his name to the list soon I am sure! I had a great experience volunteering as a catcher this year, doing the gatoraide swims, running a little of the course and riding a wee bit in PCB. I am a freak about pre riding and running courses before a race (all sprint and 1 oly to this point) so I am REALLY glad I made the trip! We have a large crew from MI (lots of non bt'rs though) and many of us are first timers! I'm registered, a wee bit nervous, but really excited to do this next year! Woo Hoo! |

Now, if I can just make it through the holiday's w/o gorging myself I'll hit the new year and get this show on the road... Of course, one day at a time...I'm still new to this IM adventure and don't want to get ahead of myself. |

Champion 8766 Evergreen, Colorado | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread REGISTERED! I'll throw a general invitation out there--if anyone wants to come pre-ride the course, I only live an hour away. BTers are more than welcome to visit. You just need to see if I'm home. I probably get back from Iraq in early August. |
