Even though I'm not a big snowboarding fan, that was pretty cool for an opening!

Very creative!  Thank you, Canada, for a well done performance.

A kudos to the President of the IOC for his acknowledgement of the fatal accident earlier that day.

I can't believe that ALL the primtime coverage will be tape delayed for the West Coast. The Olympics are in the Pacific Time Zone, but I'm still going to have to spend 3 hours every night making sure that I don't see any results.

I give up.

Within 11 minutes of NBC's coverage, I was nauseous.  I was barely prepared to deal with Bob Costas, but I had no idea that I would have to deal with Matt Lauer as well.  Ugh.

It only go worse when Brian Williams turned up.

But when they switched to Al Michaels and Tom Brokaw I felt better, and then Chris Colligsworth and Dan Patrick came on...

Order was returned to the universe.  Unless I get cornered by one of those fireside chats with Pat O'Brien, I should be fine.

I read somewhere that ABC/ESPN are going for 2014/2018 which makes a lot of sense to me...

Bob Costas is being a jerk!  I can't believe some of the things he's said, especially about the athletes.

I liked the KD Lang singing, Very Powerful (although she looks like a young wayne newton).

Pretty darn good.  Go Canada.  Now if it would just snow.....!

Hmm. Only in Canada would they drive the Olympic Flame via the back of a pickup truck in pouring rain to the cauldron. I hope they let Gretzky in the cab for the drive back.

I like how they kept saying it was okay to not be as good as china cause their focus was different. bob costas should suck a big one. I did kinda laugh when the 3rd column didnt come up. The opera singer was amazing, I've always wanted to see a live one.

My husband said the same thing - about the Wayne Newton similarity!  Beautiful song though...

My friend, Amy Gough, is competing for Canada in Skeleton.  We're all (as in all her friends here in Calgary) very excited to watch her in action next week.  We made up a big "Go Amy" banner that lots of people have signed and bringing it out there to show support.  My buddy Doug promised to go shirtless with a big "A" painted on his chest.  So if you see some drunken fool on TV that fits that description - yup, that's Douger.

We (Wife, daughter and I plus another couple) are flying out to Vancouver next Wednesday and straight to Whistler for 3 nights to watch the Skeleton racing and soak in the Whistler vibe.  Then back to Vancouver to catch a couple Men's hockey games CAD vs USA and RUS vs. CZE.  I can't wait!

Go Canada!

I had a hard time determining the diffference between the 3 runs in the womens moguls final.

Short Track Speedskating was super exciting with Apollo and JR.

With all the running around I've been doing today, I missed it, but caught the reruns of the wipeout that took place.

You can be happy again.  They're back to moguls.

I think they need more sports in the winter olympics.  There is a ton of events in the summer olympics, so give us some more in the winter olympics.  I want to watch the sports, instead of commentary, and I can't fault NBC, since there aren't a lot of events to show!
