Wow, you guys are intimidatingly good.

Nope, just lucky.

I shot 67 photos in about 25 minutes. Lots of the same thing, just playing with aperture, speed and exposure length and other settings to get what I wanted. I would have loved more time, but I was with some friends and they were not on my schedule. For us amateurs, it's all about quantity. If I take enough pictures, I'm bound to end up with a couple good ones.

I'm going to be own my own in Chicago for 3 nights next week and plan on shooting a whole bunch more. This time, I'll remember my tripod.

Yep.  When I'm out "hunting" birds, I'll go through 200 shots and end up with 2 or 3 I really like.  It's a bit easier when shooting stationary stuff like buildings and landscapes, but even then it's about snapping a bunch of pics with different exposures and in different light.  It's the beauty of the digital camera.  It doesn't cost extra to take a bad picture

LOL, I do the same thing and of the many thousands of shots, I can only find a couple of lame "reflections"!  On the other hand, I have some beautiful sunsets, sunrises, kid photos, snow photos etc.  I found a beautiful one I could have used for the "shadows" week but didn't think of it that week.  One day, someone will post a topic for which I have a great photo

This is an older Picture of Detroit I took when I first got into photography. It was drizzling that night when I was in Windsor visiting my grandmother.

You should make this into a puzzle.  It looks like a picture I would buy in the store.  Absolutely stunning.

LMAO, I tried to upload the pic with the attachment option but for some reason when I resized it to under 100k it still wouldn't post. I thought I deleted the post but put up that awesome foggy pic instead. Will upload with photobucket after work.

Not HDR but I did apply some photoshop enhancement. I capture my images a "RAW" files then during the conversion to a workable image (tiff) I apply a correction called "clarity". This function defines contrast and accents the "edge" transition of highlights and shadow areas.
After I have applied the changes to the RAW file I added a minimal "Shadow/Highlight" adjustment in photoshop because I didn't want the shadow ares to be completely black.

Are you sure this is a photo and not a painting by Bob Ross?  I see LOTS of happy little trees!

Nice work!

Very brilliant colors, indeed.
I've not seen blue like that, though, especially the one branch.

This is going to be a tough choice this week.  Everyone has great pictures.

I may have to use a different shot from the same shoot of my award winning "trial run" week contest.

since we have a lot of the same people playing along each week, if we have a winner more than twice would anyone be opposed to opening up the 3rd win to letting others vote on topics? i've received a lot of topics via PM that people are interested in (or have the winner on win 3 pick out of that "basket"

Just a thought after some sudgestions and completely ok going either way with this.

Also if anyone has other thoughts to make this more fun/change a week up feel free to let me know.

And as always, thanks so far, a LOT of great photos so far.

I have no problem with that, sounds like a good idea. I guess you could just make a list and then use that whenever someone needs a topic or if they already won twice.
