Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: March Madness Bike Challenge Weekly Results Definitely out of whack ...... ACC first week should be "465.18" not "1700" ......... that changes the rankings a bit. Click on the ACC tab in your file and you can see that. Yup, exactly .... the ACC week 1 tab is keyed to ACCM14 and not ACCC14. Edited by Daremo 2006-03-14 9:26 AM |

Extreme Veteran 466 | Subject: RE: March Madness Bike Challenge Weekly Results Brian, I hate to be the bearer of bad news again this week but... I think you messed up the ACC percentage in the master table. It looks like they are actually at 41.28% not over 70%. Which is good for us teams further down Thanks for including the Big East this week. Like the tournament in RL, we have the highest numbers of people playing and the biggest goals so don't count us out yet. Lynne |

Pro 3705 Vestavia Hills | Subject: RE: March Madness Bike Challenge Weekly Results Team Captains! Thanks for double dog checking ... the fallacy in the master spreadsheet formula dealt with the value in C5 for the ACC. I checked the rest of the column and did not find a similar misattribution. While it does drop the ACC to a less lofty position, it does not change the rank order too much - except that the WCC + PAC 10 are now ruling the roost!
It is still anyone's game though, so the team that RIDES LOTS will win!

Veteran 244 Ida, Michigan | Subject: RE: Week 2 Results In the Big 10, we had a member (jcjsc00) increase his goal. This is not reflected in the master spreadsheet. Should be 960 minutes instead 750 minutes--will slightly lower our overall percentage, should not change the rankings though. --Craig |

Veteran 128 Okinawa, Japan | Subject: RE: March Madness Bike Challenge Weekly Results Ok, just a few things that I noticed..... On WCC + PAC 10: my first week needs to be changed. It should be 62.77, not 153.00 SEC: Your calculations aren't counting Runnergirl29's minutes.....Fixing that should put you into the 40% range. Big12: I think that Parkerr815 first week is 75 minutes...not 0....If you check the his logs you will see it. That is just what I noticed. Jerry |

Thanks for taking the time to go through the spreadsheet. Runnergirl29 was a late but welcome addition to the SEC Team ... suspect that when I added the line in the spreadsheet, it did not capture in the forumla. Tucker (Speedball)/Big 12: I looked at the submittals for weeks 1 + 2. Parker815 is down for a 0 for week 1 ... just want to confirm that it not captured somewhere else. Michele (zagagirl)/WCC + PAC 10: Same for you but in reverse ... the 153 number for jerryrika was based upon submittal. Want to make sure this discrepancy was not accounted for somewhere else. Please let me know and I'll make the changes - but do not want to make changes unless I have the Team Captain's okay. Thanks!

He didn't put that time down in his log until after he returned from a trip and after I had submitted week 1. The time is included with week 2. Let me know if that is a problem. |

Pro 3705 Vestavia Hills | Subject: RE: March Madness Bike Challenge Weekly Results DRAFT Week Three totals are attached + draft synopsis is below ... please take a look through to ensure that your team's information is correct. I am 2 for 2 in terms of weekly revisions and want to be sure that we catch any mistakes during the week it occurs. The SEC suffered a series of set backs this week; Jered (HornJM) had to check himself into the emergency room on Thursday night due to stomach issues ... and they removed his gallbaldder. Sebastian (Sebjamesm) reinjured his ankle and is beating himself up with an aircast (he cannot flex his ankle at all, so there is not even a chance for swimming w/out a buoy or aquajogging). Please take a moment to drop into their logs to leave them an inspire or two. The new rank order for week three is:
Revisions? Post 'em here and the Team Captain will sort them out. (To ensure that we are all working off of the same set of numbers, any revisions have to have the input of the team captain.) All in all, it was a good week of cycling all around! The challenge is definitely working for me ... I am logging miles I never would have if it weren't for fear of letting the others down.

Couple of problems on the Big 10 page. The last four riders are not getting included in the total. I think the formula for cell G22 should be SUM(G5:G21) instead of SUM(G5:G17). Also rider kimta did not want her mountain bike time included as part of the challenge so her time for week 3 should be 180 minutes instead of 300 minutes (sorry about that). --Craig Edited by cathrone 2006-03-20 6:15 PM |

Pro 3705 Vestavia Hills | Subject: RE: March Madness Bike Challenge Weekly Results Craig: Good catch on the formula! As a safeguard, I checked the tally from the Big 10's previous two weeks and they correctly accounted for each line-item (I also double checked the other team's aggregates just to be sure). I have also decreased Kimta's minutes from 300 to 180 (although I think Kimta ought to include it as mountain biking is hard work!). The good news is that the BIG 10 has moved up to FOURTH PLACE! New rank order:
The good news is that no team is "out" of the competition in that what separates the last team from the first team is not insurmountable ... plenty of time to catch-up and take your moment to shine in first place! |
