I wanted to put on my lime green Brooks pure cadence shoes, CEP compression socks, shorts, sleeveless tech tee, IM70.3 finisher hat with Oakley on top of the brim. Then Velcro about 1000 Calories worth of GU and Gatorade to my race belt. Don't forget a Nathan handheld H2O bottle. I would then put a race belt on with a bib number calling out a 1km charity, family walkathon.

Sadly I don't have to invest in much besides the GU and Gatorade bottles ...

My office department theme was Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yes, we have a digital camera set up with a green-screen and we superimpose you on the background.  That's what you get when you work in the IT Department!  And yes, the bottle has rum in it and I've been drinking all morning long.

Here we are this past weekend, making Disney's Magic Kingdom safe for all law-abiding citizens.

The only downside was we had to stop for a LOT of pictures. Didn't expect that!

I ran a 5k with my daughter and one of her roommates this weekend. She was a ladybug (hard to tell in this photo, but she had ladybug tights, and black spots on her back), and I was Indiana Jones. Yes, I ran the 5k in a leather jacket. I was only overheated for about 2 miles...

But what really made the costume work was the small speaker I had hidden in my pocket connected to my phone, playing Indiana Jones theme music from the movies. So as I approached people, they could hear the theme song playing. I got a few comments "Is that music?" to which I responded "What? You don't run with a theme song?"

But next year, I think I would like to be a bowl of spaghetti...

I am in charge of staying home to hand out candy.

Last year I put a Snickers tied to my fishing pole and would cast it out the the sidewalk.  When a kid would spot it and go to grab it I would real it in.  Lead to a few suprised glances.  This year I am taking it up a notch.

I am going to dress up as a scare crow.  Boots, bib overalls and long sleeve shirt all stuffed.  I am going to have a burlap bag over my head and a cowboy hat.  Then I am pinning a sign that says "Take One" on my chest.  Then I will sit out in my driveway slouched over with the bowl of candy in my lap.  When some unsuspecting child comes to take one as instructed this "lifeless" scarecrow will suddenly come to life.

Should be an interesting night.

love your little mikayla!

i've been noticing that little girls costumes are following the slutty "insert item here" trend --- lace up corsets, short skirts, thigh high socks.  WHY?  saw so many parents posting pics of their little girls on facebook in the same skanky bee and ladybug costumes i see out at the bars....
