I was going to leave the hurting knee and butt alone but I just couldn't.   I am glad you don't whiz in the pool though.  Of course my pool was very hot yesterday I'm wondering ...

Back to why I'm posting.  Notice that the challenge has changed from Dec 4-31 to Dec 1-31.  If you want to make any last minute changes please post them here by the end of tomorrow (if possible I am easy to get along with).

Let's have some fun with this thing.  A little trash talk, a few laps, and a victory for the Blizzard's!

Us midwest folk are pretty nice, and I'd love to get another southern midwesterner in! Welcome!

I think if you fit the following you can consider yourself a midwesterner:

1.  Have seen snow where you live at some point in your life. (Most midwesterners see it at least once per year but we acknowledge our southern brethren sometimes have easy winters)
2.  Do not have an East Coast accent.
3.  Do not own a Confederate flag.
4.  Cannot see mountains from where you live.
5.  Do not live in Canada.

There.  I think that covers all the boundaries.

Hey, wait a minute where are those of us that can see the mountains but are not in them supposed to go????? (Okay, technically I cannot see the mountains from our place - the foothills are in the way - I have to go a little bit east to the the mountains)

I know I'm late (as usual ) But I would like to be on this team. I know that there are other Ohio people here, so I figured I'd just tag along too. I am just getting back in the pool after a 3 month lay off due to shoulder issues. But I am cleared to start back on Mon. of next week. And I have a long course Tri in May as my first event. So I have to get my butt in gear and I know this will keep me at it.
My goal for the Challenge is 12,000 yds.
Hope I'm not too late,
Chris

Hey Hikergerb.. Good job!

We only got about 1-2" here in Northeast WI - less to the north. I think Chitown may have gotten hammered moreso.

My son is going to college in Chicago and I haven't heard from him in a couple of days.  I sent him an e-mail asking for pictures.  I have forgotten what snow looks like!

What a day to start the challenge, Illinois Wesleyans Campus is completely shutdown, so no pool open for me to get a good start. I'm hoping they open it up tomorrow, I'm already behind. Ahh.

Game on!!!

Post 2500 yds for me out of my 20000 goal.

Some how I think I need to rethink this goal. I am already 1/8 th done and 30 days to go. But at this pace i would have 75000yds in the end and I hear no one beats the Whizz!! Knee butt and all!!! So I don't want to step over her boundaries, and there is no way I could be in the pool everyday.

Go Blizzard

So would the midwest team have someone who can see the mountains from his office window.  I have a goal of 400 minutes this month - it equals last months total but I have to do it without the aid of 9 days off of work.  I would put down a distance, but I really should focus on drills this month. Although in the back of my mind, 15000 would be nice to hit 100k for the year.

OK teammates!  I think I have the spreadsheet put together.  PLEASE  check to make sure this old bald guy has you goal correct (and that I have everyone on it)  If there is a mistake please PM me.  It is hard to sort through the thread to find all the individual entries so please forgive me if I have something wrong.  Let's go get'em team!

I've got 4600 in so far... with about 3500 or so scheduled for tomorrow night and another 3500-3600 for Friday AM, and probably 2000 or so on Saturday or Sunday.

If I wouldn't have been snowed in on Friday, I'd be 3500 ahead... Couldn't get to the pool...

Well I don't have huge numbers but...I did get my first swim in. After 3 months out of the water due to shoulder injury it felt good to be back. Slow but good. I did 1200 yds in 33:22...not a great time. I did feel really slow but at least I'm not in pain and even now it feel OK, a little tired but OK. So way to go all of you swimming maniacs.
