Aloha all

Thanks for the kick up the rump Casie. Does that mean I get a team fine?

Okay booking in late guys and gals.

Name - Paul Walker (Doh)

Stages - 15 I think

Bike - Black Corrado (hand built job 2nd hand with 78 deg seat tube) I built this up and will post pics soon. It probably doesnt fit but got to start somewhere. (BTW if anyone knows where to get a professional bike fit done in dear old Scotland please do spill the beans - I really need to get this done)

I am still a virgin so treat me kind ladies (and boys I guess in this enlightened age- never thought I'd say that!) I am 5'9 248 (reducing) so everything is a challange I guess just now. I ride a hill to get to the gym 5mile up and the same down. Love coming down get up to 40mph! Also I have a turbo so I will go for 30 min plus rides on that to count.

I have a hip injury just now but no problem hitting the target I think inbetween long weekends.

Nice to see another Scot on the team Lynne.

I'm away for the weekend so back Tuesday.

Hi Team - there has been a query with regard to cycle commutes, should they be counted as one stage or two?

Ive already stated that two a day workouts are fine i.e a spin class in the morning and a road ride at night would be two stages BUT a commute could be argued to be different as technically you HAVE to ride both ways...

Personally I think it comes down to how you counted it when you committed your stages... as long as you state how you are counting your commute in the beginning and stick to it I have no major objections but if anyone has a strong opinion regarding this please let me know.

Thanks

Cat

PS: HUGE congratulations to everyone who has already got a ride in for the challenge

Did you guys see Robbie?

5K out from the finish he hadn't joined the peleton yet...he caught up to the peleton, has to ride through some 175 rider, to get ready for an attack off the front...wow that guy can ride...amazing!

He did all this after crashing over his handlebars hurting his wrist and knee unsure if he could even continue the race. I hope he can recover enough to continue on.

I wonder how many watts he puts out sprinting to the finish like that...impressive...best sprinter in the world in on our team!

Me I did a puny ride compared to those bike studs...30 miles..hit 2K miles for the year and over 175 miles for the week riding for 10 hours.

3 stages done for me...going for 700 miles this month...have 196 done.

Robbie poured it on today at the finish...but came up short. I love watching the TDF and seeing our Lotto guys...can't wait until we get to some climbs to see how they do.

How are you guys doing?

Hi, team!

My internet access on vacation has been sketchy so far...but I've completed 1 of my 9 stages and will likely post another ride tomorrow. Our beach house is unfortunately off a busy highway, so stage 1 was riding in loops around the neighborhood - maybe I can just pretend it was a personal crit? There's a bike path not far, though - so hopefully one day I can pack my bike & drive it to the bikeway.

I'll check in again later.

I will have done 2 stages after a 9/10 mile ride later this evening.

So 2 out of 9. That right? Or do I suck? I tried to open the plan that was posted in the original TdF thread but it wouldn't let me. So I may still appear a little confuddled.

5/14, I did a TT today with a local bike shop...pretty fun!

It was sort of TDF like...all these folks were middle aged though (I think I was one of the oldest folks there) with their fancy skin suits, tricked out bikes, areo helmets, plus a kid in swim shorts...all sorts of folks...it was a great thing for bike racing.

They started us every minute, I caught the people that started 1, 2, 3, & 4 minutes ahead of me and I was 5th so for awhile I was in the lead (it goes by your time so that doesn't matter but it was kind of cool). I ended up 22:45 for an avg of 21.3 mph...sweet~

It was a five dog panting workout...my HR was high...it was hard and it hurt...but this is all good!

A women there who did pass me with about .5 mile to go, was kind and actually was in the race I crashed. She is talking to me about joining her race team which has some awesome benefits...free bike service, sweet discount & more...also new women who are fast to ride with that are closer....all great!

Keep up the good work team!

Hi Guys,

At this stage I'm 5/12, hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll be 7/12. I think I should have committed to a higher number of stages .

Watching Le tour just makes me want to get on my bike.
