i146q - 2008-06-22 4:10 PM On to nutrition... Between the last two days and then today, I've probably only chocked up about 3800 cal. So I amazed I haven't completely turned into the fetal position yet. On a lighter note, my parents have been trying to shove pizza, as a dinner idea, on me. And normally I would've been all over it, but I've actually turned it down at least 3 times... (besides, they usually make me order it, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to pizza. I'll eat the deluxe 'veggies', but I usually end up scraping about 80% of that crap off. I mostly eat cheese and pepp.) So for today, I've been neglecting my nutritional needs again--> what's new, right?. Didn't have time for breakfast (was running out the door). By the time mom and I got back, she decided on donuts and milk. I opted for some cal. here and ate 2 sour cream/glazed, one right after the other, that's when the serotonin kicked in, and I crashed. Didn't eat again till about 5 pm (banana) and most of the day I've been drinking water like a fish. I think I'm up to 4.5 liters already. So I guess it's no wonder I have a headache... For dinner I'm making spaghetti, since mom's all tuckered out. Last thurs., she had the last of her reconstruction (areola complex) she still has some tattooing to go through, but for the past 3 yrs, she's just been spent. With work, school (Pheonix online), cancer, surgeries, house stuff.... I've seen a definate change. I just hope she can pick herself up again and finally dump the sickly role.

Like wow on the training and I hope your Mom sees the light at the end of the tunnel.  That's a LOT to go through.

As far as nutrition - go and get yourself some easy to take and eat stuff.  My go to in emergency situations is ClifBars.  I mean, you really DO have to take care of yourself, and sometimes you just don't have time to sit around cooking a whole meal.  Come up with some fast and easy alternatives and then just keep them on hand.

So far my eating hasn't been bad, not good either:

1 raisin cinnamon bagel at about 8

1 raisin cinnamon bagel at about 12

oh yeah, 4 cups a coffee.

You know saling - your definition of "healthy eating" totally redefines the term for me.  Obviously, I am now ultra-healthy awesome eater in comparison.

I'm in Concord, CA and I wanna PURPLE bubble. Thank you.

Edit:  Finally back on track with the eating, mainly because I started logging it again so I could PROVE to myself I wasn't eating a kajillion calories.  The answer was no, I am not - but I guess I had to have proof.

I usually do have a back up plan. I don't really eat bars, though I like them, I find them not fulfilling. My back up usually consists of a couple of bags of almonds ( 1.5 handfuls per each) and an orange plus some water, I also stockpile my cereal ( I buy 4-5 boxes at a time, so there's always a low cal alternative).... If after digging through the fridge, and not finding something that's BF reducing (consciously) that's usually what I turn to... That or a salad. And the whole deal with cooking meals and stuff, is so that others in the household have something warm, waiting for them when they get home from work... Otherwise I usually just peck all day. Dinner is by far my heaviest (in terms of cal) meal of the day. Once that's out of the way it's back to pecking for another 12 hrs, and then nothing while I sleep of course.

Oh, and mom might be riddled with cancer again! No clear diagnosis as of yet, but two areas stick out. Polyp during last PAP (kind it was, is extremely rare), and a mishapen mole (but might be due to tomoxifen from last round of cancer). She's had too much going on to have this happen now... So while we're crossing toes, and fingers, we're also appalled that the big guy upstairs would even be playing with our emotions considering the first round. We also have a family friend that still lives in Camarillo/Thousand Oaks area (CA) who is on her third round of cancer. *breast, ovarian, and now lung* She's still fighting strong though.

Are you talking about so we can each add our changes or is the map merely asthetic in nature (just to look at)? I would think if the latter then a file attachment (after the fact) would suffice, and then if changes need to be made, then we could either just tell you, put them in our logs (though who wants to mull through 15-20 of them everyday?). If there's a way to NOT download it as a PDF (so we can change our own) then get it back to you, and you make the changes on a master map...??? Besides, not sure if it was clarified if these 'mini'-goals would be uploaded everyday or 1x/wk?

Mak,  We are trying to come up with a challenge for us.  My idea was a "trip around the world".

just some lovely facts...

the earth is roughly 8,000 miles in diameter (D), by the formula C=3.14159* D, we come up with a rough calculation for the circumference (C) of the earth ~ 24,000 mi (or 24,902 mi at the equator)

If... as saling suggested we add or minus 100 miles for the different events pertaining to goals and workouts, etc... Then, typically, given we all get pluses (+100); 24,000 /100 = 240,

then with 2 teams at 10 people each 240/10= 24. This number represents the real world mileage it would take for just one team to make it around the world, granted we all live up to salings expectations. And as a (the whole team skinny) we could definately make it around the world twice, in one month. That's taking a reasonable distance that every person runs at least 1 mi a day, and that there are 20 people when we start this challenge.

1 person runs 1 mi /day for 24 days =24 miles X 10 people/team X 100 (for conversion) =24,000 mi.
Shoot, with those numbers I don't see why we don't go to the moon and back! That would roughly be 12 months of time with 48,000 miles/month * 6 months (one way trip) *12 for a roundtrip. And just to clarify the moon is only about 239,000 mi. from earth so,...
letting all other things stay the same, 48,000 X 12 months = 576,000 miles or 2.4 times the distance from the earth to the moon.

How's that go again saling, "Baby steps" ????

Checking some of my figures see below;

ok now i am confused! but i do know good things on the scale when i see them!

last week: 147.4

this week: 147.0 - yeh baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nowhere near my june goal but honestly do think i am back on track again i hope. i appear to have stalled for about two months. i do know why, so am slowly trying to do something about it; also i have changed my goal again!!! overall target is 143.0 - the optimistic 139 tbh wasn't motivating me at all. 143 seems achieveable

good luck other team skinniers

"The one thing that I really appreciate about being a runner is the incredible friendships and camaraderie that we, as runners, share. Although it will always be a cutthroat competition for every spot on every team, our companionship transcends these competitive rivalries."

Now my head hurts...Okay back to tracking for suggested challenge.

S/B/R is mile per mile.  S/B/R  200 miles your team moves 200 miles.

Weight loss (as a team) 1% loss equals 100 miles.  Team starts month at 1500 lbs and ends month at 1350 lbs = 10% = 1000 miles.  Gains 10% = -1000 miles.

First, how do I get on a team?

Second... I am 197.5 today...Basically the same as last week...I am very disappointed in this.  I know there could be a lot of contributers, but I have been eating healthy, and doing my videos...I think I need to do more...If only I could run!  Ok, I guess I need to be swimming and biking instead.  I am just up and down and all around...(the round part is what bothers me)

third...a friend had a punching bag, and me, him and his girlfriend (um...thats a loose term..and so was she) went a few rounds with it.  I really enjoyed it.  The Y that I will be working at on saturdays has one...but I really don't know how to use it...I was going to say that I punch like a girl...but I know to many girls who could beat the crap out of me...so that statement doesnt work.

Ok, I think my scale heard me last week and played a different game with me this week. Yesterday I weighed myself and I was 223.5 ---> not happy! So, I weighed myself this morning...

Last week: 221
This week 219.5
Total = -1.5 (w00t!)

I like this game my scale is playing sooooo much better!!!

As far as location, I'm in Bartlett, IL. You can stop at my place on your way to enders But, sadly, I'm not as liquored up as she is. I only have a few bottles of whisky and a few bottles of beer

I live on the western side of Michigan about 30 min from Lake Michigan. I live in the second most conservative county in the US. No alcohol sales on Sunday around here peeps. But no worries everyone crosses the county line and drinks in there basements so we're all good.
