sexah

You knows it...but know it is being overpowered by the smell of burnt popcorn from one of my cooking challenged coworkers.

This losing weight things seems to be easy, once you get over the initial suffering of giving up you favorite foods and the reduction of calories.

I lost somewhere around 13-16 lbs in just over two weeks, depending on when I jump on the scale.  I'm back to my old race weight, but I'm not stopping till I hit around 210-215.  I want to be FAST this year.

16 lbs in over 2 weeks? Man, I hate being a chick. That's pretty much impossible for most women, even in water weight, since we hold onto that sh*t like a cactus.

I didn't give up any foods I like during The Great Slimming of 2008. I just ramped up my exercise, and cut my portions about 20% +/- (if even that much).

Saturday's gonna be FUN if yesterday's short (but intense) hill ride was any indication...

Ever superheat water in a microwave?  Basically, it doesn't look like it's boiling, but then you take it out and it explodes.

I'm pretty sure it has to be distilled water, so there is nothing in the water to initiate the boiling and then a "shock" either vibration or addition of sugar or something started the water to violently boil, just make sure you're hand isn't above the water.

Not sure.  I was sort of "one and done" with the IM stuff, but the cravings to do another are creeping in.  I have a lot of time to decide, though.

I was hoping to start snagging podium spots in the Clydes division and/or be competitive in my AG in some shorter races (oly).  And maybe get in a HIM or two.

I think at this point, the only way I will lose weight is if I do 2-a-days 6 days a week (with a couple of those sessions being strength training). We are not biking a whole lot right now, cuz most of the team has been training for a marathon. So once we add that back in, it's basically every day, twice a day of some kind of workout.

Yep.  Chem lab.  We also boiled water at 160 degrees or so with the aid of a vacume...

Nope.  I've done it with Britta water in a new Pyrex.  The surface of whatever you are heating can't have imperfections or bubbles form and there is no superheating.

The ramping up didn't work for me as well as I would have hoped.  It needed to be a reduction of calories too.  Hence giving up the 'good' stuff.  I could eat half a whole frozen pizza, but that's a crazy amount of calories...

My sports doctor told me she wanted me to lose 20 or 25 pounds this morning.  That's pretty impossible for me right now.  She said I should have my doctor increase my thyroid dose so my body starts burning more fat instead of just blood sugar like it is now.  I am intrigued by this idea.

So my girlfriend and I have season tickets to the local college basketball games. There is a home game tonight. I'm thinking about ditching it to ride on the trainer while watching Biggest Loser. The game starts at the same time BL does, and will last the whole two hours. So my evening is gone if I go to the game.

The game is on TV, too, so I could flip back and forth to see the score. But would leave my friend by herself at the game. Not the end of the world, but I will either feel guilty for not training, or feel guilty for not hanging out with her at the game.

one of the worst smells ever.

Try working 3rd-shift cleanup in a Turkey processing factory if you want worst smell ever.  Working on a dairy farm is a helluva more pleasant.
