Good location.  You are 2 blocks from a kroger, 3 exits from the race, and 2 exits to the pool I told you about.  If you need anything before or during let me know.

If anyone is in the area and is interested, me and one or two buddies will be biking the north IMTX course Sunday. We will probably meet at the Wal-mart in Montgomery and bike from there. Pedals will be cranking somewhere around 8-8:30 or so.

Here's the route we will take:  http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5263828

Anyone's welcome

Trying to choke down some calories for fuel this morning. Gonna ride 65 today in NW D/FW area - don't want to bonk again like my last long ride a week ago. We went from 78 degrees yesterday to a start this morning that will be around 37 degrees. Dang, why couldn't the warm air linger for another day? Oh, well...no snow and ice to worry about!

I did 11 miles on the run yesterday and swam afterwards. My right leg is a little tweaked from the run - not sure what it is, but hope the bike will stretch it out.

You guys all have a great day/weekend!

You had the warm weather and now it is cooling off, we had the cold weather (0 degrees on my run the other night) and today was balmy on my run, 10 degrees Wink

If I would have read this earlier I would have changed my schedule up.

Have you ever ridden the 2 portions of the course off 149?  Those are the nice vportions into the woods and a few elevation changes that you should take a mental note of.  If you take the first one, osborne road, watch for the cracks.  The drought really split the first part of it up, but it is still good roads.  I write this assuming you have not ridden the full north portion.  If you add those 2 sections to the route, then you can cut across on Johnson road to fm1097 west back to 149.  It is essentialy the oilman route adding in the 2 sections for IMTX.  Just a thought

Last week was a heavenly recovery week. Ah, so nice not getting up to swim 2-3 days a week. Loved it and my hair looked great all week.

This week, back to the grind.

I have a foot injury I'm dealing with. More like an annoyance than an injury. I have the details in my training log. My coach and I are going to run an "experiment" on me.

Keep up the great work everyone!

I am on a recovery week this week as well. And it came at about the right time. I was starting to feel the workouts a bit more this past week, so its good to take a little step back this week to prepare for 3 more steps forward! Knock on wood, it has been a healthy start to the training plan. I have only had to deal with a blister on my pinkie toe and somehow I jammed my finger against the pool wall this morning. That will teach me to tune out during my swim set

Anyone from the local area know anything about the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Conroe?  How far from the race site? Is the race site easily accessible from there?  Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

They are less than 2 years old so they should be nice.  It is a very easy drive to the race site and you would have no problems staying at that location.  Some of my rides take me past that location when I do not ride the IMTX north portion of the course.

Finally back online and almost have everything I need to get back in training.

One small snag since we've arrived is that my oldest daughter's first communion is now the day after IMTX.  I've never missed any kind of important event in my childrens' lives so this is a tough one.  I figure I will just continue training and let my wife and I figure this out.

Tonight I will finally post a workout in my logs   I also need to find a pool closer than the one that's over half an hour away.
