peto_primo - 2012-11-03 8:22 PM How about the NYC Marathon Challenge for Sunday.  Don't know where everyone's plans are but there are 28 people on the spreadsheet.  Do you think among us we could cover 4 times the distance  of the marathon that is not being run tomorrow.  That would be 104.8 miles.  (It would be easier if some folks have long runs scheduled tomorrow Wink

Planning on a late night treadmill run here at Great Wolf Lodge. Can I count any miles run after midnight towards the Sunday total?

Anything after midnight is Sunday - go for it.

Down for the Holidays is about doing something, so yeah, why not 2 hours Yoga is more than I could do, I would probably fair better with the marathon. - So maybe if we average an hour for everybody doings something on Sunday ??? 29 hours of activity - that would be the equivalent of what 6 or 7 marathons??

Well we are off to a good start for our Sunday challenge. Took advantage of the time change and got in a 16 mile treadmill run. Hopefully a short run tonight when I get back home. Off to bed peeps!

This is a neat idea. I had to move my long run to Sunday so will post back when complete

jdbadger - 2012-11-03 9:10 PM For the first day of me actually following through on nutrition I did pretty good.  The only set back was grabbing some mac'n'cheese off the kid's plate.  I think logging everything is really going to help.

Hey JD, welcome to Down With the Holidays. Great job on the first day.

I agree with you that logging helps a lot. It makes me aware of everything I put in my mouth.. and thats a good thing.

I'll do an hour on the trainer, in addition to my outdoor chores today. I had my "long" run yesterday, I traded because it was supposed to rain today and I didn't want to wuss out. It is fabulously beautiful today with no rain in sight. Oh well, better safe than sorry.

No kidding.. I cannot fathom doing 16 miles on the treadmill. Not to mention, there would be no way for me to consider doing any more running for at LEAST a day or so after....

Shermbelle - 2012-11-03 10:06 PM Got in a great workout yesterday, 85 mile trainer ride followed by 4 mi on the treadmill. Headed up north with the family to Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. So it has been a bit tough to eat descent. Doing better than i normally do but still not good.

85 miles on the trainer?  thats got to be 3.5/4 hrs. thats just way to long for me on a trainer. hour is my max, less if i'm doing training sets.   what was you stats from that session

Got an hour and a half of jogging in.  Now off for some mtb. So the goal is 29 hours of workouts?  Is someone running a total?

Managed to lose 3 pounds this week with a combination of being sick and spending long days in the woods hunting.  The little that I have been eating has been horrible nutritionally as I am simply not good at moderation.  So with our Jamaica vacation fast approaching I am starting another Whole30 Challenge.  Along with the Whole30 I have made a personal challenge to not miss a workout for the next 30 days.

Good luck everyone.

I'm not sure I understand the Sunday challenge but I did a 3 mile run this morning.  My long run was yesterday.

I've sort of fallen off the wagon this weekend for eating.  Just poor planning on my part.  I don't think I ate enough yesterday after my long run and so by evening I was REALLY hungry but too lazy to do something about it so I just kept picking at stuff - and not great stuff.  Friday wasn't so hot either.  I think it's that mentality "Well I did good all week and I have a long run tomorrow so I can cheat a bit..." I'm avoiding the scale until I get back on track.  When I slip up - the impact can be +4 pounds or so.  Probably all salt but very unmotivating so ya... AVOIDANCE!

Hope everyone is enjoying the extra hour today!!

I got in 45 minutes of running and 30 minutes of swimming this morning, so you can add another 1:15 to the challenge! Goal for the week ahead is to get a lot tighter with my nutrition. Time to drop some lbs before Thanksgiving!! Happy Sunday all!

I've walked roughly two miles so far today.  In combat boots.  Up 3 flights of stairs, down 3 flights of stairs, down a 9' ladder, up the 9' ladder, down a 12' ladder (twice), and up the 12' ladder (twice).  Again, all while wearing said combat boots.  Oh, and I've pretty much been in motion since about 0500.

Is this good for anything?  :-)

Military guys... you gotta love us.

[/QUOTEI think it's pretty good for strength training  Stair climbers are hard work so what you are doing is similar to one of them....only in those super clunky combat boots.

Still feel like yuck!  went for a "run" anyway.  Ran 4.6 miles and now I'm home resting up.  So tired of being sick.  I have a race on Saturday and right now it will be a fight to the finish at the way I'm feeling right now.  Maybe my endorphins will take over and the race will be my best yet.  Scheduled to run only 10 but I've promised a friend that I would pace her on one loop.

U need to take a profile pic of you in your combat boots and kilt. You'd be the

"Kilted Combat Booted Clydesdale" :=)

I just finished with a 1:45 minute, 30 mile bike ride and about to go for a 40 minute swim.

I know I have been gone for about a week now, I have been super busy (2 jobs plus editing a film) has left me little time to work out (but I have done some working that I still need to post) and even less time to update workout logs and this forum. I will get to it as soon as possible. Hopefully tonight.

For todays challenge - I did 45 minutes (30 run, 15 walk) on the treadmill, 4 miles total. Followed that with a few minutes of core.
