Keep the rabbit in striking distance and hunt him down There will be plenty of time for running during my last 90 days in the Navy... 74 of them will be spent in a leave status! |

This month I focused on the PF and what works and what doesn't. It's not gone but I understand now some things to do. Work on a rental house has taken me away from a lot of things but I'm going to see if I can start getting back to doing some longs on the weekend. |

I can count walking right? At least I would not get in too deep of a hole. Hey, it's your challenge - it counts if you want it to (If I was in your position - I definitely would - besides - Dr's orders right) Stay positive, keep the body healthy and strong so you can recover quickly. Will be praying for you from the north! And down south too.. And in the heartland. |

Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 miles Well, I didn't catch up with the bunny in April, but I didn't lose any more ground. I was in a funk after the Boston bombings, and it took me a couple days to get myself out of it. Man, was that a rough week? And we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow. |

Elite 3489 Lakewood, CO | Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 miles We are 1/3 of the way through the year (and still getting snow as I look out my window). I ran through my training plan through the rest of the year and guess what - I come up 31 miles short. Gee - I missed 2 long runs and about 5 days of decent running this month with stuff and was about 30 miles short of my April goal. Go figure - I thought I had a little more tolerance built in. I guess not. May have to look a little closer at some of my training sessions |

Love to have you! If you are jumping back into running after having twins, you are SuperWoman. Congrats on the little girls. Scott will be adding another baby to his family this month too. Course he won't have to give birth to them himself but I'm sure that he is going to be there for as many of those feeding and diaper changes as possible. And Scott, you have your schedule for the entire year planned out????? I used to plan my schedule for about 6 months but I was constantly revising it - usually because of missed workouts. |

Elite 3489 Lakewood, CO | Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 miles I have a 20 week "road map" to a HM then off road sprint tri. Already takes us to middle of Sept (where has this year gone?) then targets for a while to maintain winter weight more than anything else. You know, I am not really equipped to handle those 2 am feedings but yeah, I have participated in many other feedings and changings but hoping to farm some of them out to my girls. |

Elite 6387 | Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 miles Just like that... 80 miles down and 5 pounds heavier. So, just an update... it's not a tumor, it's an even rarer blood vessel problem and I need to go to Phoenix to get it fixed. The Doc said I probably should not run, and the wife "forbids" it. Doc says he's not arguing with the wife. I have taken the dogs for a hike, and I guess I will keep it up. I'm waiting to see when I will go which will be a couple of weeks. I'm counting my hiking and thats all there is to it. As soon as I can walk, I'm counting that too!!! I now have a goal to do a HM in December. I did it 2 years ago and it is my only stand alone HM. Of course I have to beat my time. I talked to the Pike's Peak Ascent and they said tough chit. No refunds, deferments, or transfers. I think it is such BS for races to do that. Obviously they can't add tons of work to be swapping stuff all over... but serious issues... come on. I think I will still do it and make them carry me up to the bus. I need something to keep me going, so I am going to do my best to keep getting my miles. |

Elite 6387 | Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 miles They can be sort of complicated, and some they won't touch. I do not know what I have, but yes, I should just go down and get it fixed and that should be that. And yes that is good. But once it is showing problems, it is a problem and it will only get worse up to all the heavy stuff. They should be giving me a call and I would like to think I would have a date by the end of the week. They said generally they can get someone in in about 2 weeks. I did ask about my training the last couple of years and the doc said it had no bearing on anything and didn't accelerate it getting worse. I have had it since birth. Much better to deal with it now relatively young and in shape then when I'm old. I really don't want to sit around for two weeks. I'm already going nuts and getting fat. I'm going to have to do something.... but I'm just a little scared and the though of it bursting and me not waiting two weeks keeps running through my head. |
