Kido - 2013-01-18 9:50 AM I used to think that most of TAN Was catfishing me....  Till I met them, and yeah, they are real.  mostly nut jobs, but real.

Kido learned I am much doucheyer and handsy in person.

Douchey and handsy? Yep, that's you.

Don't pretend you didn't love it.

I didn't say I didn't love it. Stop putting words in my mouth.

what DOES cord get to put in your mouth then?

I'll send you the video.

Wouldn't that constitute extreme psychological torture?

BAZINGA

For this, I give you a look of haughty derision.

That only works if you are looking down on them you know, so you might want to bring a box.

Are you tall too? Is every woman in TAN tall?

She is very tall.

I do think you all are overstating what he is trying to say though.  There is a difference between showing emotions and allowing your emotions to control you.

If the opinion was presented in that way I would fully agree. But there was a whole lot of crazy wrapped around that sentiment. In my opinion.

Yes it it does seem a bit harsh in the presentation.  I do, for the most part, agree with what you have said in that thread.

Today I learned that we don't have the right to be happy in a relationship and some forms of torture are acceptable.  Or maybe torture is a bad word.  "Enhanced" interrogation/relationship techniques is a more politically correct term?

And to never show emotion around anyone, especially kids. Except happiness, you can show that. Anything else is not managing your feelings appropriately.

I cry in front of my dogs...

Last night I was tearing up at the end of "A thousand words".  I BAD Eddie Murphy movie.  But when he came to his "realization" and was saying goodbye, it made me sad.  It struck me as odd, since I'm not that emotional.

That was very wrong of you. You need to master your emotions and not burden your dogs with them.

Hahahaha!  You've all been sucked into that thread too!

Oh wait, was that too happy?  Then again, I don't have kids so I don't have to worry about burdening them with my inability to master my emotions or there being too much happiness in my relationship cuz that's not allowed.

Reason 1,347,843 that kids my not be in my future.  With them, I lose my right to be happy, have to take some acting classes, hide my feelings...  And I bet those little buggers are EXPENSIVE!

1 for 4, unless I focus on the money, in which case you are batting 1000.

Kids are like boats. If you concentrate on what they cost rather than all the good stuff they bring you then you would never go there.

Cleaning offices and shared areas getting ready for the kicking-out move.

We filled 6 industrial trash cans in 2 hours. Why do people feel like they have to KEEP EVERYTHING?! Seriously we found stuff from the 80s, 90s, and that wasn't even our "archives." Multiple copies, drawers and drawers and drawers of crap.

The best was 2 boxes of floppy disks in our office supply cabinet - each disk holds a whopping 1.44MG... !

1 for 4, unless I focus on the money, in which case you are batting 1000.

Kids are like boats. If you concentrate on what they cost rather than all the good stuff they bring you then you would never go there.

[Mental Note *my second one for the day!*] ditch kids . . . get boat.

get waxed and check out job requirments to become a mime too.

OMG you didn't throw those away did you????  Those will be in a museum some day missy!!

 Laughing

Probably already are. Mid 80s I think for that sort of capacity. I was in school.

Nah, these were still widely used in the early 2000's.

Mid-80's were the gigantic 8" floppies (not even the 5-1/4").

Do you remember you could use a hole punch on a floppy disk and use the other side?  I wonder what was up with that.

Or maybe it was a double sided disk, but you needed to punch the hole to fool the write protect in a single sided drive...

Man, old school.  I don't remember the 8" FD.  But I DO remember needed to save programs on a cassette recorder.

For sure that stuff was still around but sometime in the 80's I'm pretty sure 3 1/2" discs appeared.

I can't remember exactly when but I do think your right that the 3 1/2" were around in at least the late 80s.
