This guy was at Oceanside and had some really need pieces of yard art and display racks and hooks. ETA:better link I got the bib display from him (the one pictured - or very similar - runningonthewall) through etsy. |

He trains in the art of primal move and kettle bell and stuff that i am clueless about. He is ex armed forces, he was also on the Olympic team for Tae kwon do. So he kinda knows his stuff. The class last night was taken by his gorgeous girlfriend Shannon. It looked tough. I cannot commit to the classes I just don't have the hours in a week spare! BUT I have committed to PT with Andrew - we start Monday and I'm not afraid to say I'm afraid! So we do an hour on a Monday night 6.30pm then he gives me homework 2 x 20mins sessions to do at home. And Andrew is away this weekend, but he hasn't let me down, Shannon is taking me for a ride Sunday. Aren't I the luckiest girl in the world! Very cool! Very motivating! Will we be afraid if you post some of your homework? |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED TriAya - 2013-04-08 11:20 PM YES HALLELUJAH MY DAD FINALLY DIED!!!!! All the major eff-ups along the way means a few other people are going to have to, as well, but too bad. For those of you who have been following, it's been a bureaucratic nightmare that only 3rd World and in particular Indonesian bureaucracy could possibly produce, rife with Catch-22s and impossible requirements. The President finally stepped in and had my dad killed off. THANK YOU. (This was a last resort but for ferk's sake, the poor guy died on March 15th and he wasn't dead yet! And without him being officially dead, we can't REALLY proceed with any of his VERY messy issues and paperwork and legal processes, both business and personal estate). I'm sorry that you had to go to such great lengths to complete this step of the process. I know that it's been long and frustrating and emotional and I'm glad that is behind you. May the next step not require presidential intervention! |

Just curious as to how they went. Salty I believe that you are heading to Boston today so I just wanted to say good luck and kick some butt!!!
The new shoes were the best bit of me. If only i had been reading the Manatee thread earlier, i could have got me some shiney luminous ones and whacked the one hour barrier. See what happens when you jump in so late? Froggies need water...especially manatee lagoons. Lesson learned? It IS good to be back amongst the pond life |

Guys name all kinds of things....cars, motorcycles, boats, tools. I bet it was men who began naming inanimate objects in the first place. :D4agoodlife - 2013-04-07 6:02 AM I took Silver out for a ride today...clipped in and everything! 16 miles in a little under an hour and NO MAJOR SCARINESS I practiced shifting a lot and not losing speed around corners. Of course, unclipping before stops. Getting started at lights was a pain at first because I forgot to shift down before stopping...DUH!!! Heart rate shot through the roof a few times, until I stopped worrying about getting my foot out "in time". My last stop I had a little trouble because I got too cocky. I shifted twice before stopping but didn't pedal through...oooops! Left foot shot out of clip when I only got grinding chain upon take off. I'm sure it was a good show for the cars around the major intersection where I was flailing away. Overall a great confidence-boosting first ride. Yes! Silver. Nice. I hope i can find a cool name for my bike when i get one, yet it seems a bit, well, girly. I guess i will have to secretly whisper it's name.
Siver Streaker isn't a girly name, but I just might get some odd looks if i announced i was going to give Trevor a hard ride. Coffee out the nose! |

Member 892 England | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED ArielLIlB - 2013-04-08 6:26 PM I'm straggling in here just like at the end of my half yesterday! I'm back in the old thread talking to myself like a crazy person, unless Allen is still checking in there. Thought it was odd that only a couple pages had happened since I last checked in...then realized I didn't get any email updates...thanks for finding me, Erin! Here's what I posted on the old thread: Well, I survived the half. It was really a training run (not for any other race in particular, but when you run 3 long runs before hand and pretty much nothing during the week, you just go ahead and call this a "training run." Training my mind to keep going when legs say stop?) and given my lack of preparation plus the very hilly terrain, I was aiming to just keep running the whole time and not hurt myself. It ended up finishing on 5 minutes slower than my best time (although, admittedly, I have never "raced" a half because I'm afraid of using up all my energy before the end of the race - need to work on that) and I'm not too worse for wear today. My knees hurt from the downhills and my quads are a little sore, but not as bad I feared. At the finish yesterday I could barely walk! My legs honestly felt like they had done a full marathon, not just half way. I'll work on getting the race report in, but that's the long and short of it. Oh, and my post-race firecracker wings and cajun fries were AMAZING!!! They taste better when you've earned them. Way to go girl. I am still dreaming about completing my first half, and for you it's a training run!! |

Andrew piglet bike coach has an ex I believe i mentioned we are 'friends' well mainly if I see her at an event or squad we chat, we are friends on facebook etc. I can't say we've socialised EVER. Today I get a message from her saying if I don't stop posting about how wonderful Andrew is and how much he is helping me etc she will have to block me on facebook. She works hard at removing ex's from her life and doesn't need the constant reminders. WTF! I have not responded. Really - a little childish I thought and I have no idea how to respond to that. Any ideas manatees? To be honest we are hardly friends, if she blocked me without telling me I would have taken months to notice. Well, you know the Manatee motto...maybe you should teach it to her We have a motto??? Or maybe i just have a bad memory |

So who did it??? Who sent their crazy weather to my perfectly happy neck of the earth? On top of it, I was totally unmotivated all afternoon. Finally dragged myself onto the trainer and then upstairs for some core work when DH got home to watch kids. Sheesh. We're getting the same stuff. Missed my run this morning |

Horrible nights sleep (again) then woke up tired, late and rushing to get sorted before my hour's drive to get to registration. Then had to walk my wife and daughter to the finish line before heading back to the star line (about 4k walk). Didn't hydrate properly, missed breakfast and managed a quarter flapjack whilst driving to event. Finally got running and was looking for excuses to walk by 3k. Everyone was passing me. Breathing was shocking, no rythm, soooo pleased to see the water station at 5.5k which i took as my only walking opprtunity for about 15 secs. By 7k i began to settle and actually pushed really hard for the last 500m. Finally crossed the finish line 47 secs faster than last year, but could have been so much better. Tough race in near perfect conditions. Dont know whether to be happy about the small improvement or gutted that it could have been so much better I don't know why - but this update made me LMAO... Was that your intention, or am I just dimented? Demented. (which is why I am starting to like you) Thanks for the spelling correction my new British Friend! and don't worry - I'm only a little demented. |
