Home, sweet, home. Can I say I have never been more overjoyed to see a "people mover" than today in the Denver Airport? Yes, Suzy, we flew thru Denver, not Chicago! Imagine Kathy's look when we were boarding the plane for Chicago and the attendant says, your pass is not scanning, wait, you are going to Denver, not Chicago, quick, THAT way! Imagine my look, when I heard the word "quick!" Luckily, it was not far...it's Madison, after all. I was able to quickly hobble. Quads are sore! I love the pics! Happy to be home in my foggy, cool city. Missed our pooch and kitty. Will have time now to work on my RR. West coast, out.

Awesome pics Suzy even if they were a little "short" on quantity. Hope to see more of them. People seem to do a lot of crouching around the twins. Again congrats on a huge accomplishment.

No RR yet, but how about these for a warm-up?  Even Kim hasn't seen them yet!

Setting up our bikes very early Sunday Morning:

Hanging out at Monona Terrace waiting to get ready to swim:

Minutes before the swim:

How about a little euphoria?

Yes, he was bending down!  Dino, our class act cheerleader!

What the heck is on the front of Dino's shirt, an evil spartan jack ?  Is this some sports thing I should know about?

Seriously, I love ALL the pics.  The smiles are priceless.  I can't wait to meet you ladies someday.

Kim, are those cows on your swimcap?  Cool!

LOVE the pics, ladies.  You two are gorgeous! Linda's right, you can feel the euphoria.

I do love the cow swim cap, Kim.  I need one in purple.  My alma mater's mascot is the purple cow.

What the heck is on the front of Dino's shirt, an evil spartan jack ?  Is this some sports thing I should know about?

That is the commemorative Tri-Donkai jersey from the Turbo Donkey racing team for the 9/11 race. If you look at my Avatar I have a usual team jersey on.  Anybody that has ever raced around here will hear the EEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWW cry all over the course as the Donkai faithful steadily make their way around the course! We all consider ourselves steady, usually slow, maybe a little stupid, and are too stubborn to stop.  Our usual jerseys have a big carrot on the back with the statement, "Chase YOUR Carrot!"  The name is also fitting because others probably just think we are all A$$es, but we have fun and the team seems to get bigger every year!  Hey, if the shoe fits  .......

Love love love the pics, and agree with Linda 100%... you two are beautiful in every way! I cannot wait to read the RR!

I've got some others to catch up on too, now that I'm back home with my laptop and internet. Kauai was amazing, but I think I'm in need of a vacation from my vacation. The marathon was fantastic... Dean Karnazes' inspirational words at the start line, " Who all's doing the half... beautiful course, you're going to have a great time out there! Who's doing the full... are you ready to DIE" Ha! Didn't die and had a blast. The Na Pali Coast trail on the other hand, I am still thankful to have survived and would NEVER do it again. The 11 miles each direction on lava rocks with 6 stream crossings and at least 5000 ft elevation gain each way... sure, doable, but the "hazardous cliff- ground may give way beneath you at any time" (these were the actual words on the sign) for a mile, with as narrow as 6 inch ledges, loose dirt slopes, and a 2000ft drop to the ocean below, umm, no thanks. Gorgeous views, but I'm still not sure why I continued along that trail at all. It was definitely an adventure, I'll give it that. :-)

I might have some information I was keeping secret for the right moment.  Let's just say, I had an unreasonable urge to follow through with my original plan.

Congrats Roni!  Sounds like an amazing experience.  On my trip to Kauai, I was too chicken to even hike up the Na Pali trail.  Serious fear of heights here.

I would definitely host a pre weekend fete, but once Saturday comes around, there is no vacancy at the in.  Ask Kim, she knows how I roll close to a major event.
