Artemis - 2008-06-16 6:58 PM Ran 32 minutes today; a little over my training plan to try to help make up for missing my run last week. I figure if I run at least 5 minutes extra for each of my runs that should make up for the one I missed.

Good thinking. I am a bit worried about my mileage as well. Gonna hafta do a few long 'uns to catch up

Yep, I hear you... I missed a swim. So I will have to do a bit extra on all my remaining swims.

good thing you like to swimmy swim swim!

Got in a swim this morning, mostly working on technique.  Not my favorite, but it is nice to do the morning workouts.

I don't know about a Brettathon, but I did get me a mini-brick this morning and plan on taking a swim later this afternoon if all goes well. (If not, the pool is finally free of swim practice in the early-am, so I can get a good swim tomorrow morning if I have to.)

Brettathlon is my word for a double brick workout.   All three disciplines as if it were a race!   Hence Brettathlon.

I did a Brettathlon in May,  I won my age group and overall, but the crazy RD didn't even have any medals for the OVERALL WINNER!!  (I tried to have a conference with the RD, but he was too busy!  )

Well, had a STINKY workout this morning.  Legs just DIDN'T want to work.  It wasn't pretty!

On a positive note, I was just looking at my logs from last year (entire year) vs this year (YTD)   I'm ahead of last year in ALL Categories!  (GO ME!)

2007 totals
Bike:4h 46m 36s  - 86 Mi
Run:22h 43m 20s  - 154.2 Mi
Swim:48h 47m 42s  - 105750 Yd
Strength:4h 10m

2008 totals
Bike:25h 08m 44s  - 409.98 Mi
Run:33h 19m 43s  - 202.61 Mi
Swim:46h 03m 53s  - 109778 Yd
Strength:11h 40m

Amazing what a little training will do.   Challenges help in that department to keep one on track.

Now if I could only lose the 40 plus pounds I want to lose, all would be good!

GO Gecko's!!

Thanks!   That's what I'da thought-- Hasn't happened yet.  Last time I was training seriously I dropped 34 lbs in 6 months -- now -- 3 lbs in 8 months --- UGH!

It'll kick in one of these days!

But thanks again!

A nice ride this morning. Need to rest the rest of the day - I'm feeling a little tired.

Tomorrow or Friday, I'm hoping for a nice long run. Friday, I also definitely have a bike on tap too...at the beach this weekend, so limited to running and swimming. (Baby, the bike, is staying home. )
