titeloops - 2011-05-16 5:29 AMJennifer, how was Florida? How was your race?
Hey guys! Race was great! Finished in 6:56:30 - goal was to finish, but hoped for less than 7. Woke up at 4:30 to massive thunder storms, so i spent all morning stressing about the weather, but it turned in to a great day - cloudy and high was mid -80's. Perfect.I'll do a full race report soon but here are the highlights. Swim - 44:37T1- 7:13Bike - 3:41:53 (rough - 20 mph headwinds were tough for me to handle)T2 - 4:22Run - 2:18:28All in all a great day. I'm hooked - lived the distance and felt great during 95% of the race. Spending the rest of the week at disney world with the family. Jennifer

Any thoughts on the ISM saddle. I'm looking at buying one this weekend. I know saddles are a personal prefrence but, was wandering if anybody has tried ISM.

Horn Tooting time.

My 20 minute Critical Power is up 8 watts from my last test, 258 to 266.  I think its been < 2 months since my last test.

Though I've never used a pm I know that an 8 watt increase at those numbers is pretty impressive!

My own little bit of news. Got home last night to a nice big box containing.....

my new Felt S22!

Old bike for reference of how much of an upgrade this is:

It's a 1982/3 Raleigh Rapide which I'd been given (hence the reason it's too big and the seat and stem are as low as they'll go!).

Hopefully going for a fitting on the Felt on Thursday so having to try and adjust the fit myself until then.

Nice.  Jealous.  Been trying (fruitlessly) to persuade my wife into letting me get a new ride.  Working the long con now, hoping to make her think it's her idea to get one.

Talk about an upgrade!! That's like moving from a Ford Tempo to a Ferrari! Wow. Don't be surprised if she tries to fly the first time you saddle up!

Kick a**!  It's on like Donkey Kong when we get to Rocketman.

I have consistently been setting new records in parts of my CP curve.  Came within 10 watts of my 20 minute max power last week on the tri ride - just a normal training day.  Shattered my 1 hour best power in Saturday's practice ride at OM (245w). Can't wait to see what I can do with a proper taper.

If you don't take me up on the cake of the month club I may have to carry a harpoon with me on the run so you can't just fly by me...

Mainly the fact that I love the look of Felts and the fact that my budget is somewhat limited and here in the UK it's pretty much the cheapest tri bike option available - so a bit of a 2 for 1 deal :)

I've got an OLY this weekend, too.  It's pretty funny that with the HM and this we're basically on the same race schedule this spring!

Coggan says 95-105% for an olympic but I think that's a bit on the aggressive.  I did just under 90% last fall and felt pretty good.  My race this weekend is pretty hilly so I'm going to try to keep it in check but doubt that will happen.

I'd say some where between 80 and 90 percent.  Why don't you do a brick this weekend and find out?  Ride a hour and make the last 30min at 90 percent.  Then get off and run 2-3 miles and see how your legs feel.

I was looking at the CP curve graph this morning on Golden Cheetah, and thinking, that's cool, since I've accumulated some data.  Now what the heck is it actually telling me?

The graph shows Power on the Y and Time on the X axis.  What it shows you is a compilation of your best power efforts at every time slice that you've ridden.  It also shows you (via a black line) the trace of your currently selected ride.   You can hit the left mouse button over the chart and see in numbers the power numbers at each time slice for your current ride and best ever in the boxes below the graph.

If memory serves it also calculates your Critical Power from the graph and once you save it will show you your power efforts in each zone.

I love loading up my rides and seeing if I've managed to overwrite any of my best efforts with something I did today.  Small pleasures, I guess.

Always give 110%.  Ok, I have no idea - listen to Mark. ;-)

Signed and paid. I think all four of us are set to go to this one - should be fun!

And I'm much better at smack talk than actually backing it up.  It's a gift. Cool  So basically I'll yammer all summer, you'll kick my a**, and I'll buy you a beer after.
