HEY!  Wake up peeps...check those calendars, who has a late season race they want to talk about????

For those of us who have officially entered off-season, how's it going? what're you doing to keep yourselves busy?

Last Tri of the season for me this Sunday and first Sprint distance of the year!  It will be an interesting race since most of my focus this year has been on longer distances.  Hopefully, I still got some speed in this old bod somewhere......

I have not started thinking about off out-season (Just for you Fatty!yet due to the start of our Cyclocross season next weekend.  That ought to be an interesting addition to my LACK of cycling skills set!  Joooeeeyyyy!!!!   But, I am trying to prevent the drainer from becoming part of the regular routine till the snow flies!

I have really enjoyed the recent discussions on the "self-reflections" and the "whys" that everybody has for making this sport a part of their lives.  Thanks for sharing!  Laughing

AAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYY!!  Where have you been?

Good luck to all the racers this weekend, be safe and REPRESENT!!!

You're going to do cross?  Very cool.  I think you'll like it.

Anyone here who is looking for a new challange after doing a full IM should check out Savageman! I know Tracy has talked about it as her DOug hasdone it, but go to Youtube and search it (and Westport wall) Also check out savagemantri.com. HOLY H#%!&!!! If you finish and get up the wall you get a brick with your name on it.

This year Dave Scott, 6 time IM Kona Champion, did it and finished 6th OA at 57 years old. However, he did not get a brick as he had to put a foot down on the Wall near the top. I hear the hill Killer Miller is also a b*tch!

The crowds are outstanding. At one point in the videos (#6) at 16:58 one guy (#495) nearly gets driven into the right curb by another climber but escapes. Then due to his compensation he almost hits the opposite curb! Barely moving he turns and continues to drive up the hill but once again come ridiculously close to the right curb. The crowd is going out of its mind! He ultimately makes it. He has ice water in his veins. Apparently he is an F-15 and F-16 test pilot. The videos also show lots of carnage!

This is a challange!!

No racing here.  Last few runs before next weeks marathon.  We have our annual Friends of Jeremy Golf Tournament this weekend.  Lots of friends and family visiting.  Forecast might bring a little rain but other than that is should be a great day.

Good luck racers - Roni, Doug, Dino, Tony...and anyone else who I missed!  I think Julia and Jayne are up too???

Last tri of the season for me is a sprint this Sunday.  It's at a state park, so we're making a camping weekend out of it.  Camping Friday & Saturday nights and then race on Sunday.  The run is supposed to be a trail run, so I'm hoping for my best run yet.

I have some other things on my agenda for this fall:  a 1/2 marathon walk, and a couple 5ks.  I need to keep up my running through the winter months.

Good luck to the other racers.

I live 90 min. from Deep Creek. This is one of the most challenging rides in the country. Every year a few of our club members do this. Our club Prez, fell while climbing "the wall" this past Sunday during Savageman 70.3, he did make it up though in a training ride. If you make it up during the race, you get a brick with your name on it placed into the street. I will post the video of his fall when I get a chance from my home PC.

I have my last tri of the season on Saturday, a local Oly. The only hope I have of getting a PR is to go for broke, so that's the plan.

Good luck to all the other racers. Roni, have a great time in Jackson Hole. Grand Teton is my favorite National Park, please take lots of pics!

tricrazy - 2011-09-21 11:27 AM Has anyone ever used a running coach?  How did you go about finding one?  Thanks.

 http://www.2lcoaching.com/default.asp

Suzy recommended him to me,  great guy and he developed a pretty solid program for me when I ran MCM a couple years ago.  I think a couple others here have used him as well per Suzy's recommendation.  Compared to triathlon coaching cost he is very reasonable.

I worked with Lowell Ladd, founder of 2lcoaching for over three years.  During that time, I PR'ed every distance I competed in every year AND BQ'ed 3 times.   Kim's cousin used him and BQ'ed as did Chet (used to be part of the MG).   Coaching is his full time job and his only focus is running which is why I moved on when I started doing triathlon.

good luck racing peeps.  nada here.  probably some camping with the family.

suzy the queen of transition's husband jeff whom you met at rev is a prof at purdue.  the red nails are for you when i see you in florida in november.  and that steve needs to put those safety latches in the pic on his cabinets!

WHAT UP ANDY!!!!!!!

Your talking next November, right?

how come no one invited me to florida?  Cry

You have to be willing to either a) do IM Florida with John in '12 or b) keep John moving for 140.6 miles.  Both sound a little painful, but if you're up for one of the tasks come on along!

LOL!!!!  probably true though.

IM someday...but not for a while.  The kids need to either get a lot older or I have to figure out how to make enough money so Kris can be a stay at home mom.

She is just starting to talk about moving up to the oly distance next year.  I can't scare her with the long stuff yet!!
