Austin, Texas or Jupiter, Florida | Subject: RE: LaurenSU02's group - CLOSED! Saw something on the Arrythmia deal: With a change in diet, you may not get enough potassium or magnesium. That coupled-with caffeine could cause arrythmia. So I'm not dying. I just need to take some vitamins...or eat a steak. Anyway, I gotta get home so Jenny can go check-out 1st-year baby pictures of Jacob. If I get them digital, I'll post one. He's really a cute kid. Must be from his momma's side. Peace Out! |

Austin, Texas or Jupiter, Florida | Subject: RE: LaurenSU02's group - CLOSED! Still no Baby, Jenny says it is definitely coming in the next week though. She was up several times last night because she just couldn't get comfortable. Good news is that my aunt arrives tomorrow to help-out so if the baby comes tomorrow night, we've got someone to take care of Jacob. Anyway, had a great swim today. I highly recommend a day completely off every once in a while. Tomorrow, I unintentionally volunteered for a 7-ish miler with some speed demons. They swear they don't run faster than 9:30s but I doubt that's true. Hopefully, I can keep-up. We have some races this weekend don't we? Owl_girl and Boston and Aikidoman??? You'll Kick-Butt!!! |

Elite 3913 far northern CA | Subject: RE: LaurenSU02's group - CLOSED! I've heard a rumor that my metric century tomorrow has been changed to a 50 mile race due to a landslide that took out the road. I guess I won't know until tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed that it's just a rumor! Cheers! |

Expert 706 New Orleans | Subject: RE: LaurenSU02's group - CLOSED! So I need some opinions. Tomorrow morning is a local 1 mile/3 mile race. I love our local races, and was looking forward to a 1 mile TT, and was going to do the 3 mile also just for fun without any expectations. But if I do the race, I won't be able to get my long in for the week since I'm biking on Sunday. So I'm thinking about passing on the race and doing my long run. Any thoughts? This work trip took a toll on me. My diet wasn't the greatest yesterday or today, and with no workout today, I feel like a slug. |

My diet wasn't the greatest yesterday or today, and with no workout today, I feel like a slug. i think it would be fun to do the race. unless this was a key build week, i think you'e probably fine doing the race, especially if you hit the one mile hard and don't lollygag the 3 miler too much. but then, i'm not a huge stickler about plans anyway. to me, a plan is about getting to where i want to be. if not hitting that long run is going to put you in a really bad position to build you a certain distance, then do the long run. if it's just your regular long run - then i say no big deal . my $.02. GOOD LUCK TO ALL RACERS!!! i can't wait to hear about them afterwards! |

I would recommend skipping the long run and do the race, you are far enough away from your marathon that missing a long run should not be an issue. Just keep in mind, that it is important to go easy for a number of days = miles in your road race (if you go at race pace), so if you do race all 4 miles of that, you should go easy for the next 4 days. |

Well, actually I am. But it's not till November, so I've got some time. I do appreciate the advice though. I did go and run the race. Treated the 1 mile like a TT and the 3 mile like a training run. The humidity here today is just stupid. But it was fun though, plus I got TWO t-shirts, one of the regular race shirts, and then they also had finishers shirts. Not a bad deal for $20! |

Master 1619 Hingham, Ma | Subject: RE: LaurenSU02's group - CLOSED! So I am all packed up and think I am ready. I checked off everything from my list and all I have to do in the morning is pack my bike, wetsuit, and bag in the car. I really haven't done any sort of strenuous activity the past 3 days, so I should be rested. I am pretty excited. I am in the last wave of all newbies. We are in the orange caps. Good luck, I guess, since I was an Orangemen for 7 years. (2 degrees, not 1) Thanks for all your inspires and good lucks. I will let you know how everything goes when I get back tomorrow. It will be my 100th post. |

Awesome job! I was going to get a nice ride in yesterday but the weather didn't cooperate with me. That and I took a nasty fall yesterday riding. I had planned on a 2 hour ride yesterday but hit a patch of mud 1 hour in and slid about 10 feet on the ground. I decided at that point, with all the blood trickling down my leg, that I should call it a day. |

Master 1619 Hingham, Ma | Subject: RE: LaurenSU02's group - CLOSED! Hey guys. I made it. It has been a crazy day and I'm exhausted. I just wanted to let you know I finished. Had a terrible swim, bike was good, and legs cramped a bit on the run. I was 222/232 and 27/27 AG. I am thrilled to have completed a triathlon with only 12 weeks of training and pissed I did so bad. I didn't realize I was this competitive. I am really going to push it now. Next race is June 14th. I will do race report tomorrow. Good night. |
