Hello everyone!

I'm happy to say that I made it back to Omaha safe and sound - it was absolutely pouring in PA and gorgeous and sunny when I landed in NE.  Sort of poetic don't you think?

Great posts, lots of good vibes, another great pic!

Even though we all seem to have been bitten by the busy bug (hmmm, that's corny - lol) there is still lots of great stuff going on!

Have a great weekend!

Glad you had a safe trip back...You enjoy your extended weekend with the family.

Steve

The Starfish - 2008-05-16 9:36 AM I will be thinking of your encouraging words on Sunday! My bib # is 1759 (Florida 70.3) if you want to send positive thoughts to me that day. Hubby's is #64. He needs good vibes, too!
We're on it, Charlotte!! Guys, I am not doing well with the May Manatee challenge. I just...really, really hate getting up early to exercise. I'm planning to bike tomorrow morning with a friend, and I've got a race Sunday morning, so that'll knock out two more mornings, but it's going to be a close call. (And my biking isn't looking so hot, either.) I really need to get my act together!

Have a great bike ride tomorrow and have a SUPER race on Sunday....that is why it is best to train in the a.m....because that is when most races start...RD's are just mean like that

I also remember reading something years ago when I was running a lot...That people who trained in the a.m. were injured more often but were typically more dedicated and that people who trained late in the day were less injured but were also more likely to bag a workout and not stick with it as long

Also...please read my blog if possible...Part of my challenge for the group was to blog if I didn't stick to my plan for this month...well I had an unusual thing happen today and I need some accountability (well...I got it in but not how I should)  Just trying to meet the challenge.

Off to read the blog, Steve!

I hit a new PR at the pool tonight! A 2:10 for 100y. I know, still super slow, but I'd been sitting at 2:12 since early March, so it was exciting -- and totally unexpected. I haven't been working on my swim at all, just going a couple times a week so I don't lose too much fitness/technique. It's kind of surprising, actually, how well my swim is going considering how little time I'm giving it. I guess there's something to be said for taking a break from something that isn't working. Maybe my body just needed time and rest to absorb all of the training.

Wonderful news from all of you--great to read--and yes, challenges can be a struggle, that's why they're called "challenge."

Hey Erin, if you just stay up all night and then work out, does that count? Oh, and "maybe my body needed time and rest to absorb all that training" ... weird, huh, I SWEAR I've heard that before ... hmmm ... repeatedly, I dunno, drawing a blank.

Sad but good news: my Bubbeh passed away yesterday, very peacefully, surrounded with love.

Erin, that's great!

I don't know the science behind it, but I do seem to find the same thing to be true.  Maybe it's just that sometimes we need the mental break as well.

Hey Manatees!  I had my longest, longest run ever in my life today - I'm too tired to retype the report - for details checkout my blog

In a nutshell, I went 6.6 miles with a 1 mile cool down walk - whew!

Looks like everyone is having a busy weekend.  I did my first charity bike ride today and enjoyed it immensely.  Totally different from what I normally do.

Erin,  I am going to try your method to improve my swimming.  I bagged the pool in favor of a massage today.  Maybe tomorrow I will swim my fastest times ever!

Yanti, I am really sorry to hear about your loss.  It does sound like you were able to spend some special time with your adopted grandma at the end.  I am sure you will not soon forget it.

I made improvements in my challenge this week, but still have a ways to go....something to work on next week.

Train on!

Suzy

Charlotte has completed the swim and is on the bike.  It looks like she had a decent swim, 45:57.  Her husband is on the run and completed the first two legs in good form.

More later!!!  Go Charlotte, Go!!

She's doing great! Wow! That's a spectacular HIM bike. Go, Charlotte!!

I just got back from Bay to Breakers. I'll write a RR later, but in sum: Fun! Also: Huge crowds and lots of naked people. Definitely not your typical race.

Great job this weekend, everyone!  I've been up at Mt. Rainier enjoying the most gorgeous weather (85 degrees!) with my five best mommy friends.  Got a little run in yesterday and a walk today, and I am back to training hard again tomorrow.  I really needed the break from life so I am not sweating not fitting in as much as 'the plan' said I needed to.  I feel prepared for my tri, the rest is just icing on the cake.

Yanti, I am sorry to hear about your adopted grandma, but I am sure you will carry the good things with you forever, and she the same.

Charlotte--WOW!!  Awesome job!

I will catch up on everyone's blogs early this week, I promise!!!!

Hey everyone I made it through my 5 days of golf barely!! Wow what a mental drain that was I don't know how the pros do it week after week. I guess that is why they are pros.

Yanti is BT athlete of the month!! I just listened to her interview and of course she was amazing like we would expect her to be!!
