That's too bad, if you were going on a shooting spree anyway, I have a few people I'd like added to the list. I mean, what's a couple more, really?

Shooting aside, which I'm sure is probably needed and justifiable anyway ...

I want to be you when I grow up. You've served your country, your family, your workplace, your community, the BT community in such amazing ways. What you've done with Triathlons for Transplants is incredible. And, well, you're just damn hot.

I probably won't get the haircut, though.

Yup. I actually closed on the day they said I would, but not without a ton of drama involved. A ton. I still don't get why it's so hard. I did everything that was asked of me in the timeframe it was asked, and yet somehow it was down to someone working OVERTIME so my funds were transferred in time or some such BS. Don't get it at all.

Two of my friends who recently bought houses both were delayed 2 or 3 times because of similar drama.

Never schedule a closing on a Friday.

OK we better stop with this type of talk before someone takes us seriously!

Right after I got out of the Corps, I was sitting in downtown Iowa City with my friends from High School and we were just talking.  Their girlfriends were all just meeting me for the first time.  I started joking about how easy it would be to set yourself up in one of the taller buildings by the pedestrian mall and just start picking people off and then be gone before the cops even knew what was going on.  Their women did not find it humourous.  One of them called me a "hawk that was destined to ruin the world" which I thought was awfully strong.  We all thought it was funny (cause I've never killed anyone that I didn't have a reason to, really) but a couple years later this grad student went berserk and started shooting folks on campus right before the Thanksgiving break.  It wasn't such a funny story after that.
BTW - this was well before Colombine and all of that, so it was just humor, not twisted humor.
Here's a link to the actual story about the shootings - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Iowa_shooting

i was supposed to close on a friday, and around 9 pm the night before my realtor calls and says "we have a problem - we can't process your mortgage because you don't have 2 years of work history"

and i say "well i was still in college two years ago"

"then i need a COPY OF YOUR DEGREE TO CLOSE ON YOUR HOUSE"

meanwhile, all my worldly possessions have been in storage for 6 weeks while i lived out of a hotel waiting on closing....so while driving home to go to my grandmother's funeral i had to call Pitt and figure out how to get a copy of my actual diploma sent to the realtor.  my transcripts were not sufficient.  it was redonk.

For sure!
I've just heard from realator friends that Fridays get all of the delayed stuff from earlier in the week. And if you were planning on moving over that weekend, you are kinda left without a place for more than one night if the closing gets delayed. That exact thing happened to a friend - all his stuff in a Uhaul ready to be moved - he literally had nowhere to stay when they called THAT day and delayed his closing! Of course friends offered a couch, but yeah. He was homeless for about a week...

I probably won't get the haircut, though.

awwww - shucks.

If you shoot as well as you butt dial, I'm askeer'd.

I still don't understand why my keylock didn't work.  I butt texted someone too, though it was jibberish.

THAT is even funnier!!!

it's a joke, people, I'm not going to shoot a bunch of people - just one.

That's too bad, if you were going on a shooting spree anyway, I have a few people I'd like added to the list. I mean, what's a couple more, really?

{{{MELON PRESS}}}

I'm a damn good shot - but that's a long way to shoot without computer guidance.  Tongue out
